  1. My version of my father's aircraft: http://www.militarymodelling.com/albums/member_album.asp?a=14045 Mike
  2. When it comes to rigging these square riggers do look like a cat's cradle. You might find this book very useful: http://www.amazon.co.uk/100-Gun-Ship-Victory-Anatomy/dp/0851777988/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1435756403&sr=8-2&keywords=anatomy+of+hms+victory and http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Anatomy-of-the-Ship-The-100-Gun-Ship-Victory-by-John-Mckay-Hardback-/261950418556?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3cfd762e7c Good luck, Mike
  3. Very nicely done. I'm not sure the weathering from the Lanc's engines is appropriate because the aircraft are so well looked after. I also think the Lanc has a gloss/satin finish as well. Mike
  4. Staggeringly good - any chance of a FAA Phantom on Ark Royal now?! Mike
  5. I made the Coastal command version for one of my father's friends who served in the Med. Mike
  6. Now you've shown us photos taken from the S.Atlantic, how about showing us photos of the models (!). I hope this is destined for a museum, and perhaps entry into the Model Engineer Exhibition. Mike
  7. Outstandingly done. With the wind on the port quarter, shouldn't she be heeling over to starboard a touch? Mike
  8. Looking very good. Having scratchbuilt one of these in 1/24 scale years ago (see http://www.militarymodelling.com/albums/member_album.asp?a=24877),I have thought of making one in 1/72. Looking forward to your progress. Mike
  9. Still looking forward to this seeing this build through. Mike
  10. I routinely motorise my 1/24 and 1/32 aircraft. I use a Scalextric motor with battery 'box' and switch from Maplins incorporated into the Airfix stand. I'm not sure how you'd manage if you wanted to display the kit's motor as well. Good luck, Mike
  11. Superbly done, but I think that sea might be too choppy for flying! Mike
  12. Should be on display in a museum! Mike
  13. I have often thought of doing a hurricane in this FAA scheme. You have done a lovely job of it. Mike
  14. Pretty scary being the gunner: were they strapped in? Mike
  15. Very nicely done to date. When you do the mooring ropes, don't forget the fenders to stop her banging into the dock. I usually soak the ropes in dilute white glue, they hang better and stay in place once dry. She would be moored with bow and stern lines as well as springs. Happy modelling, Mike
