I'm currently building an Airfix 1/72 Buccaneer in the RN colour scheme from 1976. I'm fitting it with the slipper tanks and 2 radar Martels.
The colour call out in the older RAF boxing I also have in the stash is for the Martels to be white but all the radar Martel pics on the internet are green.
I can't change the loadout as I've glued the tanks and pylons on so I've got to go with the Martels which are ready for painting
Any help appreciated
Chris
Morrisons have the Pledge "New Klear". £3.89 I think, its with the furniture polish usually.
I've also got some Astonish Flawless, 99p for 750ml from Home Bargain (Orange and Cinnamon scent )
This too has a milky white look to it but seems to do the job

That would look ace.
It would need a little figure of the films director, Peter Collinson, who was the one stood at the back of the bus waving the Mini's on.
Nobody else dared do it so he had to step up.
I sprayed this with Humbrol 11 thinned with Humbrol thinners.
Don't know if I got the ratio wrong but when I went to apply a top coat of Klear, it wouldn't stick so this is the natural paint finish.
I'm going to revisit this in the future to add some variation to the finish, weathering etc.
Well, I saw this at ten to 5 just before I finished work.
By ten past 5 I had the only one in Stockport in the car and on the way home.
Also, the kit is immense. Amazing value
Its not bad but i wish I'd got the new Revell one instead. I'd forgotten about it and got this 2 days before it came out
Still I'd built one when I was younger and remember it being way better than the old Airfix one my mate built.
Forgot to say, the main wheels are True Details resin to replace featureless kit wheels and decals are not 100% accurate as I had to make do with some damaged kit decals and some spare Airfix ones.
Other than that its OOB
My Matchbox Flying Fortress
Recently nearly finished. Just need to paint rudder, add a few guns and finish props.
Airbrushed Humbrol 11 and lots of artistic license used.
Just a quick question
Is it possible to make a Royal Navy Phantom from the Fujimi Alcock & Brown FGR.2 kit?
Are any major modifications required to the airframe.
Decals are easy to come by (want to do an Ark Royal Phantom)
Thanks
Chris
