  1. I'm following this with interest as I'm waiting for one to be delivered. I have always liked the look of the Marauder, something quite sleek about it and yet quite bulky as well.

Out of interest, because there is a problem with my delivery, could you measure the box for me please?

    Looking forward to seeing more.

  2. An absolutely genuine bloke to deal with.

I have had a couple of dealings with Colin now and echo what has already been said. Always considerate, his communication couldn't be better and the kits have been packaged well.

Many thanks Colin AKA One 48

  3. I have just bought the Navy Buccaneer from Jadlam and then a few days later saw this Airfix offer. I'm tempted by the offer and would then sell one of the duplicate Navy ones... alternatively wait until the RAF one is on offer. Looking at the way Jadlam do things it is most likely, although not certain, but that is the way I am going to go, just need a good dose of patience.

  4. My Dambuster arrived last night, I was keen to check out the clear sprues. The box is much bigger and the original clear sprues are in their own box in a compartment. That’s really good news.

There is a however though. Border have produced an additional sprue, it is too big to fit in the box with the other sprues and is slipped in down the side. On my kit, one of the turret mouldings is broken but my understanding is that some of the clear parts are duplicated in the event of damage so it’s not a problem that one item is broken.

The new clear sprue does have some new parts as well. I’d post pictures if I had the time…

  5. Prices at the pumps right now are lower than I've seen in over a year and maybe closer to 18 months. Can't see it staying that way for too long though!

  6. Phew, where to start... the same as last year, except this year I'm a bit more organised.

Finish: 1/24 Spitfire Mk.Ia to IX conversion, 1/24 Mosquito, Tamiya 1/48 Mosquito, early Airfix 1/72 "G- George" Lanc and 1/48 Accurate Miniatures Dauntless. Paint my 1/24 Trumpeter Hurricane, 1/72 Frog Tempest and 1/72 Airfix Gnat.

My other hobby is R/C models, specifically scale sailplanes, I'm building a 1/4 scale Slingsby Skylark 4 and have a number of other part built models to finish.

And all this without starting anything new.

Idly surfing the web and I came across this gem from Bill Bailey ( the man’s a genius btw). He gives his spin on the Dr Who theme, topical given that it’s celebrating 60 years.

Thanks for posting this. What a beautiful piece of music, watching Dr Who will never be the same.

  8. Well, apart from perfume you mean… . ‘Tis the season 😉

A Tamiya Spitfire Mk.IXc from one 48 on here, I sold mine a while back and regretted it ever since. A Border Lancaster Nose Art from Jadlam, both in the post… can’t wait.

  9. Frankly I'd ask all the other neighbours to put lights up as a show of unity, a way of letting the petitioners know where they stand... maybe.

I'm sorry to hear you have these people near you with nothing better to do. I'm lucky living at the end of a lane with just 7 properties, 6 of us get on really well and work together, the the 7th we rarely see.

  10. I generally make a box from heavy duty corrugated card to sit the model in. I then make 4 supports from 1" thick sponge type foam, cut and shaped to go around the fuselage and the wings. These supports go the full width and full height of the box. Each support is in two pieces, I then glue the lower foam support to the cardboard so nothing can move and fit the upper foam over the top and tape it to the lower parts. Then the top of the box goes on. The model is held securely, it cannot move and small parts are not touching anything. I guess if someone decides to play football with it the model won't survive but to date I have probably sent 10 or so models this way without complaint but with praise.

Downside, it is very time consuming to do it properly.

I know a picture paints a thousand words but unfortunately I don't have any pictures.
