  1. That was only a short stint some years ago. He had been back in Russia for quite some time.
  2. Hi folks and friends, may I present to you my latest release: An F-104A (late) set for the Kinetic F-104A/C kit. The parts in the kit don't contain any A parts but with this resin set you can actually build and accurate late type A, after ejection seat upgrade to the C-2 seat. Included are are lower fuselage insert piece, a fuselage panel with staggered vent louvres (with cutting template mask), fuselage side doubler plates (printed extremely thin), control stick and throttle, "A" specific instrument panel and a couple of aft canopy braces. Many thanks!! Jeffrey
  3. I'm glad to see the KH kits back, but if they do new developments I sure hope they don't use the same design team. J
  4. Many thanks! Still looking at the sprue pics there seem to be a number of things missing for my Mk.41, I guess they'll come in the inevitable HAR.3 box. J
  5. I've had a good look at the sprue pics on a few pages but I'm still a bit unsure: Would (will?) there be a new sprue with detail parts required to make variants such as a Mk.41 or indeed a HAR.3? Things like the light on the nose, the antenna fittings etc. Or is all plastic already in the box and we will just get new decal variants? I'm wondering whether or not to order this box or wait. It's a Mk.41 (mid/late 80's) I'd like to build. I have decals and a Hasegawa kit to be converted, but rather would use this new kit... J
  6. Hi folks and friends, I'd like to show (off?) my latest release, a backdate set for Kinetic's new tool F-16A kit. With this set you can build early Block aircraft, from 1 to 10. Contained are small stabilators with static dischargers, early type main isntrument panel, the corresponding coaming with HUD camera, a replacement fuselage panel with the early type ECS exhaust and a couple of antennas. With the exception of the ECS panel, all other parts are drop fit replacements for kit parts, no surgery needed. There is also guidance in the instructions on how to modify some kit parts to further increase accuracy for the early Block airframes. The stabilators are cast in extra strong resin (from a 3D printed master), the other parts are direct 3D print parts. https://www.hypersonicmodels.com/product/f-16a-backdate-set Many thanks for your attention, I hope you'll like this set. New F-16A (early) decals are on the way from Bullseye Model Aviation and PK Productions, something to look out for as well. Jeffrey
  7. I'd definitely buy STL's of those from you if available (for private use of course, nothing to do with my business). J
  8. Make sure you buy a transformer with plenty power reserves. A motor device like a compressor draws a spike in initial current to build up the magnetic field at the coils while the transformer does the exact OPPOSITE, it tries to resist the initial flow of current at startup. If the transformer has too low a rating your compressor will sputter and stutter when the motor comes on. Also, perhaps check that the motor is OK with 60Hz mains cycles. I’m running my European compressors here in Japan at 100V with 1500W transformers, no issues. J
  9. Hi everyone, I'd like to introduce to you my latest release at Hypersonic Models. B-26K Coutner Invader wheels, in 1:48, for the ICM kit. The set is created in CAD to accurate dimensions and all components are delivered as 3D printed parts. Tyres and hubs are separate pieces, in order to facilitate the best printing result and make painting easier. Print supports are kept to a minimum, clean-up is roughly equal to a good resin cast item although each individual support is easier to clip away than a thick casting block. The detail includes very fine brake detail, valve stems, tyre sidewall detail (kept as small/faint as possible) and weighted/bulged tyres. The axle holes correspond to the ICM gear struts and also fix the off-centre issue of the kit hubs. Direct link: https://www.hypersonicmodels.com/product/b-26k-wheels I hope you'll like this set. Thanks for looking, Jeffrey
  10. Yes, I had a closer look at better photos and indeed you can see a bit of the impeller/compressor from the front, I thought it would be behind screens. But still, it's deep in the intake throat and guide vanes and much smaller...Airfix's representation is not right either. But anyway J
  11. err, centrifugal flow engine, right?🤔 J
  12. ...and having seen this model in person a couple of times I can say it's every bit as good as the pics and the article And if you have a 3D printer you can download all sorts of goodies Temma-san designed for free as well. J
  13. Where is that “slaps hand against forehead” emoji again…
  14. DEF Model is faster though... No association with DEF Model, just think the "first guy" deserves some credit as well J
  15. Excellent shots!! Your equipment and skill are certainly far more advanced that what I could hope to manage, really nice. I have to make it to Akeno sometime, hoping to catch some Chinook action. After all it's not all that far away... Stupidly, I missed the Yao (Osaka) base festical on Nov. 20th, only found out when I did some Googling wondering why a Chinook had been flying low over our house the last three days, including that Sunday. Too late by that time... J
  16. The more I see the less I actually like about it I must say. I pre-ordered the G model as soon as it was available, based on the early CAD images shown. The kit is currently winging its way to me from Hong Kong. I'll give it a proper hands-on investigation of course. But so far, with more info trickeling in, the only plus points I see are the one-piece upper fuselage, (potentially!) a better shaped cockpit/canopy area than ZM, inner canopy insert pieces and retracted slats. Everything else is looks rather meh, and that lower tail piece is a real shocker. We shall see... J
  17. ...or wait for what GWH will put out. GWH kits are generally on a higher price level and I don't think they will be had for 40Quid but corrected engines may put you in the GWH price range already...
  18. so has anyone seen the Meng plastic yet?? Yes, so far only Tamiya has got the forward fuselage width more or less correct (and it is the fuselage width around the cockpit centre that’s the main issue - the canopy is just a follow-on symptom). But how accurate is Meng ? The CAD looked quite good but I wouldn’t draw final conclusions before investigating the plastic (or examine lots more CAD renders). so has anyone seen the Meng plastic yet?? 19. Good job, that looks very nice indeed! I have recently received the same kit, how are the decals? They look a bit, hmmm, so-so on the sheet… My resin seats also have air bubbles, a bit unusual to see these days. Any need to reinforce the mounts for the skids? That crossed my mind as well when looking at the parts. Itching to start mine… Cheers, J
