  2. Does the dining table with some old lining paper spread on it count? im jealous
  3. I need help please, i just tried brushing on the revell clear varnish, and it came out awfully thick, when I tried thinning it down it just stripped the underlying paintwork (luckily i tested it on a scrap piece )Can anyone help me please? James
  4. Thanks for the interest would this be a very clean airframe with little weathering? and just to add some more interest to it, even though its not to scale, I may add all the payload
  5. Hi everyone, just thought I would share some pictures of my F4 phantom as it is being constructed. This is my first 1/32 and unfourtunately it is all to be brush painted so the finish wont be amazing, but im going to try my best All the parts have gone together really well up to now, im having a bit of trouble on the intakes, but nothing a few minutes of tinkering wont sort out I have nearly finished the tubs, gotta put the final details on such as the yellow and red on the ring on the bang seat Enjoy Can anyone tell me how and when to apply varnish? I am using revell gloss and this is the first time ive ever used varnish Thanks , James
  6. wow, thats a long post Spitfire31 I can tell you are one for complete historical accuracy When I made this kit i had been away at RIAT 09 with cadets helping out there for a week, working from 5am till late afternoon, absolutely knackering. So when I got home I just made this kit to relax a little, and scale accuracies where at the back of my mind, with a proper bed at the front Thanks for all your advice guys, With my phantom I can only find one picture of the 50th anniversary plane, and that is the box art. Should I assume that it will be the same as others, or would it be much much cleaner being a display plane? (maybe this warrants a new thread of its own?) James
  7. aye, I know about the undercarriage doors and mast, but sometimes parents get overzealous about throwing boxes away and then you realise you've missed off parts! I have been doing a lot of reading I go by, a silly question is better than a silly mistake
  8. thanks for the comments the tan bit is actually grey, a bit of the underlying plastic, i think i took off way too much paint on that part lol I shall look into the pigments for when it comes to my 1/32 f4
  9. Hi would a mod please move this to the critique section then please? I am just using enamel paints, thinners and various brushing techniques
  10. Hi guys, this is my first post on here so i thought I would use it to share some of my work. I'm 15 years old and have been modelling for about 7-8 years with my father. This is the first one ive had a more 'serious' approach to and I really tried my best on this. All contructive criticism is highly welcomed as I am always looking to improve. Atm I am working on a 1/32 revell F4 Phantom i picked up in the modelzone sale, so shall post pics of that when i am done After looking back on my photos I shall retake them, using my new camera and a higher depth of field and better lighting to get more detail Thanks for looking, James
