Hi guys Long time with no updates on progress, had so much work for school to do Anyway, heres probably the only thing i've done worth posting on here from my sketchbook Wanted to do some still life and incorporate perspective into it Hope it all looks alright to you Thanks for all the help everyone James

Hi everyone Thanks for all the comments I made the old mistake of letting glue get on my fingers when affixing the canopy I hadnt realised it was such an old kit but i do agree that for its age its not too bad that box art for the Spitfire is awful isnt it! At least if you mess it up you can say it looks like it does on the box Thanks again, James

oh, and btw, Im going for that quite old look on this one

Hi guys, after finally acquiring a room to myself for my models I have decided to do a quite detailed FJ-4 from the Hobbyboss 148th kit, now, i cant find many reference photos on the net so most of it shall be fictitious but based on similar aircraft parts My modelling desk Here is what I have up to now Still some more refinements left to make But this is a very nice kit I must say, well worth £7 I know its not up to the standard of most people on here but I hope you enjoy watching this build Thanks for looking, James
-
haha yeah he does Must be all the scratches on his canopy
-
Hi guys, managed to pick this kit (along with a few others ) in the Modelzone sale, originally my dad intended to build it but told me to do as he said i'd do it better So here is my Revell 1/32 seafire, has taken about 4 days to build, so a very quick build tbh, the one thing im annoyed at is the amount of flash on the parts, but its been nothing that a little sanding cant remove Oh, and apologies for the fingerprints on the canopy Anyone any idea how to get rid of them? Is all this rivet detail accurate? None of my other spitfires have this? Oh dont you just love crudely painted figures lol I like the retractable undercarriage included with the kit The moveable canopy is quite a nice addition too Anyway, hope you all like it James

Count me in too got a small something planned hehe, but its a secret for the moment

I guess i must be losing in the biggest stash (2 models) and best modelling workshop (dining table) lol, I think that like most things modelling can be very frustrating at times, but the end result is nearly always worth it

Looks like a trip into town is in order at the weekend! or maybe to manchester and I can pop into modelzone too I think im making good progress with drawing
-
I think I need to buy a set of a decent range of pencils then Thanks
-
Well, seeing as that photocopy shown above would have been thrown out, I did some experimenting on it first Opinions please guys Also, what grade pencil should I be using? Im using an F atm and I dont think its giving me the range I need, what would everyone suggest? Thanks James
-
So it does! thanks for pointing that out I love having photocopies so I can make changes then go back to the original outline when i am sure of everything and do it right
-
im glad it is just a photocopy, noticed ive drawn the lines on the wing incorrectly
-
Here is a photocopy of my drawing that I have used to try and get things right before doing it on my main drawing Hope you like it up to now Thanks everyone, James

Hi again Anyone any idea where the nose for this Tsr 2 should go? looks weird atm. And ive not started the detailing yet, this is just the rough outline still James and thanks for all the kind comments
-
Thanks Mark Its encouraging to see all these technical illustrators And you're not being an old bore, its really interesting for me I shall post my latest effort later James
-
One more thing guys, how do i decide on where the vanishing point is to be? Probably a really silly question but its the one thing im unsure of Trying to do a Tsr 2 atm The canopy is awkward!!! James

I talked about the subject to my engineering teacher today, he said we didnt need to know how to do perspective drawing for the exam or any part of the course so wouldnt go through it At least I have you guys to help me Thanks everyone
