Hasegawa's 1:48 TF 104G Starfighter............

Absolutely stunning An inspiration to all of us brush painters -
Thankyou everyone I know it's hardly anything compared to the masterpieces you see on here, but when you have a WHSmith voucher and the choice of a kit or a magazine you'll most likely read once and chuck away, it was no contest

Hi guys I know I should have been revising for my A-levels, but, just couldnt resist building this little thing to give me a rest once in a while I don't know how anyone who builds these as their first kit see model building, as it was truly shocking. The wheels are bigger on one side than the other! Locating pins nowhere to be seen on most parts :/ Nose cone about 2mm too big all the way round. Anyway, enough moaning, here it is Thanks for looking James

Thankyou very very much everybody it's been a tough week at college with so much revision etc I originally hoped to go into the RAF as an engineering officer, however due to recent events within the armed forces and government etc I can't see that happening I'm now keeping my options completely open, and hope my A-level course selection will help with that davidsm- Mothers have no sympathy with models, if it 'needs' dusting they will dust them
-
Thankyou everyone Unfourtunately have to stop building these next two weeks to revise for A-level Maths, Physics and Chemistry exams
-
Cheers Painted with the good old bristley stick too I was out in Manchester buying more kits on wednesday

Hi guys, Just wanted to share some pictures of the Rafale B I picked up in the MZ sales on Tuesday Its been very nice kit to build and the detail is superb. For the price I reckon it can't be beaten for value The detail is stunning! The wash appears darker than it is Thanks for looking everbody comments and criticism welcome James

Thankyou everyone for your replies It seems to be completely a matter of personal opinion on to what a huge error is, for example: I once bought an airfix german bomber (cant for the life of me remember what it was) and one half of a wing was as if half of it had just melted away! Now thats a huge error imo If the error is that strikingly obvious I will scratchbuild a new intake section and put a fod cover over it Speaking of which i've just thought of what I can do today

Thanks Matt I'll have a proper read in the morning, too tired atm Mike, being fairly new here, is there some sort of inaccuracy war raging on that i'm not aware of?
-
erm, how messy is an airbrush? I can put a little heater in the shed with a booth maybe
-
I can supply a booth
-
Wap it round to mine haha

Thank you everyone for your views I am one of the true Sunday afternoon builders and I would never have noticed any innacuracies about this kit, It was more of the general fit and feel of the assembly of the kit which I wanted to know about Does it need a gallon of filler or just a smidgen? I'm planning on brush painting this or asking a friend (f-111 fan) if i can go to his and use his airbrush with him for a few hours, but the main question is, how can one get the soft demarcation lines needed for the blue/grey wrap around shown on the box cover with a brush? Furthermore what details can I either scratch build or buy after-market parts for the cockpit? (I really want a nice looking model, not bothered about inaccurate profile) Peter Marshall- What colour is your avionics bay? Zinc chromate? and also how did you get that effect on it? Was it something like Promodeller wash? I only have dark dirt btw. Also how did you make your RBF tags and intake cover? Sorry for all the questions, I just want to make the most of it, as it's the most expensive kit i've ever got Regards and thanks, James

Hi guys, I'm getting a Hobby Boss A7 K 1/48th scale kit as part of my christmas present, It was the review on here that made me want it But after doing some searching couldnt find any build threads or rfi's of any of the A7's in the range. Can anybody who has built one please tell me their opinions and tips on making the most of this kit? Any help would be appreciated as I want to make this one a true keeper Regards, James

I'm not saying £20 isnt a lot of money, just compared to the tamiya etc kits its a lot less The last 3 kits I bought cost £8 all together, 1/72 f-16, 1/72 Su34 and this phantom And it was my dad who got me into modelling But he was a build, paint, shoot with air gun modeller
-
Seems my dad has thrown the box from the Phantom out Sorry :/ I know its from 1980 though
-
F111 fan, yes I have built everything i got from telford Only 3 kits mind you Billy I don't know it off the top of my head, but can find it May I ask why you want to know?
-
Thankyou everyone Kev1n, just because they're bigger doesnt mean they're much more expensive. The total cost for both phantoms shown was £20
-
Yeah it really was oh well, turned out ok in the end Could do with a matt coat tbh
-
Thanks for the comments guys Took about 3 evenings to build this one the bottom is brush painted in wood undercoat that you'd use on doors

Hi guys Just wanted to share a couple of pics of my newly finished f4-j phantom This is my 2nd phantom in this scale Few notes about the kit, pretty bad fit, awful raised panel lines, nice inclusion of an internal engine structure, canopy is a funny fit, cockpit rather devoid of detail. But other than that and the lackof any instructions its been ok for the price More to come tomorrow thankyou for looking James

Hi guys, just wanted to share some pics of the F16 I have just completed Second time using pro-modeller wash so its patchy in places, but I hope you like it Thankyou for looking James

We need to track down that guy, and show him the pics of the finished articles The three we bought off him were absolute bargains! I have too much work to do this week though to build any models A level maths test today, and a test in all the other subjects every day this week! its non stop
