  1. So, I know wheels and engines have rotating part but where does the canny thing fit in with the Rotate theme? As with Alan, asking for a friend who is terribly confused! Colin living in Confusion
  2. The instructions don't ask for a different colour to the LE, so I assume it's one colour. Colin
  3. Hi, I'll have to check, whether they have SS erosion cappings. Haven't got that far with mine yet!On my 72ns Junglie Sea King, the LE is the same colour as the blades. Colin
  4. Coming along very nicely... Colin
  5. Neat kit and start. I have one lined up for the US Navy GB later this year. Colin
  6. Interesting. The kit is really showing it's age, however, I see Clear-props have come to the rescue with some interesting releases. Colin
  7. Great progress, welcome to the Gannet builders...Ter are a few of us here. Colin
  8. Neat work there with the painted black/grey area, far better than using he decals. I dii this on my 72nd Junglie Sea King and got a far better result. Colin
  9. Looking good with paint applied. Colin
  10. Some interesting work going on here. Shame you couldn't obtain the conversion set! Colin
  11. Looking good, I like your diorama. Colin
  12. I made some progress with the observers canopy and side window. I couldn't find suitable clear sheet, so plumbed for 1.5mm Perspex/acrylic sheet. It being more robust than clear styrene sheet. I measured the dims and cut the oiecesusing my trusty jewellers fret saw, it's becoming invaluable! Filed them to fit the openings and superglued in place, I set about filing the pieces to shape. Then a fine sand and polish, I think I have achieved what I set out to do. I'll tint them after final painting. Some fine sanding needed around the canopy etc... Until later, thanks for looking in. Colin
  13. Some of those Frog re-pops really are a challenge. Glad you were able to find a good replacement. Colin
  14. Thanks Adria. The white didn't happen, the two cans of Tamiya I had at the ready were too far gone to usefully spray the Vixen, so instead, I sprayed the odd parts, pylons u/c bay doors drop tanks and Buddy refuel pod. It will have to wait until Monday now. Colin
  15. Looking good. Well, I guess that's what you call 'a disruptive camo pattern'! Colin
  16. A neat collection. I too have gone down the 72nd to 48th route, however, not entirely. I still build a few 72nd models for my FAA collection. I like the weathering on the Wildcat and Spad. Modelling for over sixty years, when this 'fad' with panel line washes and weathering came about, I had my misgivings! Being ex Fleet Air Arm, we used to keep our aircraft very clean. I jokingly made mention, elsewhere that, 'we didn't have time to paint the black lines in the panels'! However, I have just as an experiment given my 72nd Fairey Gannet (see it in the Frog Squad II GB, Boil in the bag Gannet) a panel line wash. I used the Florrey Models brown grime. I'm still to be convinced it's the way to go. We'll se with my 48th Sea King, when I get there. Colin
  17. Ooooh! Great subject. I purchased on a couple of months ago it's a vast improvement over the old Hawk kit. There are some interesting dioramas on the intergoogle, guys have display them. Colin
  18. Now this is going to be an interesting build. Great subject. I built he 1/144th kit a while back and plonked it on a plaster sea base. Tommy Thomason from Tailhook Topics helped out with images of the ROTAG fit aft of the rear doors/hatches. Maybe have a look on his site. Popcorn and comfy chair pulled up for the performance, Colin
  19. Yes, sometimes a heading can be misleading to some. I suppose, it's the way you read it. We came through your town a few years ago, on our way to Cadiz. Then I visit via TV when I watch MotoGP. Looking forward to the finished model. Colin
  20. Many thanks for the praises, as mentioned, it was an enjoyable build. One thing, I forgot to mention is the wing landing lights. I used 3 Second UV clear glue. A drop in each recess and a zap with the UV light. Job done! Colin
