  1. TC Models here in South Africa did a resin kit a few years ago but I'm not sure if it's still available. I'll find out and post a reply. Colin
  2. If anyone knows what's available, it's Steve. We've been swapping bits of info for a while. It will be interesting to see the finished database Steve. Riggers, you could always scratch-build something!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Colin
  3. Thanks for the comments and the wheelie idea, I think I'll stick with the original plan to have him on the bike. I need to pluck up the courage to start the surgery. Colin
  4. Looks like a very good kit, I'll follow your build with interest. Colin
  5. Magic work there Eric, love your determination towards the project. Keep the pics coming. Colin
  6. bloody great racing, lots to look forward to in the coming season. The lights in Quatar certainly show the bikes off to there best, pity about the dust off the racing live. We didn't get to see why Bradley fell off! I think it's going to be a while until we see the first Brit in 32 years on top of the podium, I think Cal may well need a KUTA! I'm certainly looking forward to he rest of the season. Colin
  7. Makes you wonder what Rossi was doing the past two years when you look at Dovi's grid position! It looks like Hayden has taken over from Rossi at he back of the front runners! Colin
  8. Hi Paul. I'm in the middle of my Merlin build and I'm putting the hinges on the cabin door (starboard side). A quick fit has it standing 3mm of the fuselage side, which looks ratter too much having looked at the pics in the Walkround section, I suspect Airfix have moulded the hinges over scale. As as techy can you give us a correct dimension, please. Colin
  9. I think the yellow over sea blue was a good scheme!!!!!
  10. First round or the new Moto GP season starts today, I was beginning to get withdrawal symptoms from the lack of decent motorsport. So don't ring this afternoon I'l be glue to the box. I like the new qualifying format, also rans separated from the proper bikes. I think we might just be in for a good season if the little Spaniard Marquez can behave himself! Colin
  11. Very nice indeed Tony, the armoured Rollers do look good, is it 35th scale and what kit? Thanks for sharing it. Colin
  12. Magic, don't the old Frog kits scrub well with a little TLC? Your Swordfish looks superb, thanks for sharing her with us. Colin
  13. Sorry guys but I'm going to bail on this one. I've only just got in on time for the M/C GB, so I need a break to get back to my Wessex build thread, the guys over there are gagging for more info. I couldn't find the Tomcat I fancied building, it must have gone AWOL from the stash, pity it was going to be a little dio on the cat! Next time. Colin
  14. Hi Tony, nice choice of subject, I can't quite see where the rotorhead will fit but I'll watch closely. Someone once upon a time did a detail set , grill mesh etc, and maybe spoked wheels, you might find one lurking on the interwebnet. Colin
  15. Good day Santiago, A magnificent effort by your father, it takes me back tot he days when I made balsa model aircraft, techniques I took into my job as a modelmaker and later with my business of model conversions. I'm looking forward to following this thread and thanks for sharing it with us. Colin
  16. There you go then Bill, have you seen the price of ladders recently? Colin
  17. Hi Royal, many thanks for the review, it does look a good kit of an over neglected area. Plus it brings back memories of the original launch 35 years ago already! I think one would look very nice hanging from the study ceiling! I did hear that the dish antenna was all but 'shot' away by space debris, a testament to the ability of the craft to still transmit data. Colin
  18. Nice one Fred, a pair of little crackers. It really is a good kit, I can't see what all the complaining was about! Thanks for sharing the new one with us. Colin
  19. Great finish, the Little Bird lends it'self well to super detailing. Congratulations and thanks for sharing her. Colin
  20. The green plastic vac-formed dish that mushrooms come in, I use for holding parts that all require the same colour for the airbrush, a pair of micro surgery scissors for cutting small decal images and two bone chisles for scraping away ejector pin marks and lastly a broken abrafile tile cutting file, ideal for enlarging holes.
  21. Stunning little Mini you made there, congratulations. Takes me back to our days with a 1275 Clubman, stole my brother Carbou seats and Momo steering wheel! Revell seem to have made a good job of the shape, how does it compare to the Tamiya Mini Cooper? Colin
  22. Stunning Marl, I always loved the red/white scheme on the Porsche 956's too. Congratulations. Colin
  23. I'd like to echo Steve's sentiments, I've enjoyed watching members build thread, there comment re the various problems or lack during construction and especially the final outcomes. Congratulation one and all. Colin
  24. Hi Jorgen. My priority yesterday was to get he figure and the bike finished and at least meet the deadline. It looks like the right leg is the problem, plus I need to secure the tank and seat box, you may have seen I managed to nick one of the seat box decals whilst trying to get the figure into position. That's when I gave up trying to force it. The spoke removal I picked up from mag article many moons ago, it's the first time I have tried it, yes I think it works well. I have the Matchbox Barry Sheene kit which i fancy doing sometime, so it will get the same treatment. Colin
