  1. Hi Loren, many thanks for hosting the FAA GB.  I don't think Enzo heard you, I don't see my build in the Aircraft WIP!

    If you can help.

Many thanks for your efforts, way beyond my meagre capabilities. Beat the flu mate and all the very best to you and yours.

Rum is the cure, if it doesn't work, you are not using enough rum!

  2. Hi Pappy, Just found your Daupin II build (Helo GB), unfortunate that you couldn't finish it. I've had one on the bench since 2019 but then lost the windscreen, wrote to KH but as yet nothing. No Post from China!!! Anyway, I bought a second kit so I can finish it.

I had all the issues you had building yours, the hole drilling I didn't! However, I think it is a good kit as is the Seasprite, I'm building elsewhere on BM.

Have you to around to finishing your build yet?

    Colin

PS. Been away form BM for a while, issues with Potostuffit, otherwise I would have joined in.

Good luck, but I personally would love to see KH do a 1/48 Puma  ( since this is awishlist, I would also love a Caracal!) instead. For such a successful design it still amazes me that this  has not happened in 1/48 already, but another Huey kit is a safer bet. I believe th Heller produced a kit that is at once  both rare and innaccurate as well as being 1/50

      cheers,

Hi Pappy, yes too many un-kitted helos subjects out there! Re the Puma, yes it is 50th scale, I passed mine onto Scaleworx in Cape Town. He rescaled and accurized it, it is available as a resin kit.

Whilst I like the KH Huey, another wasn't need something else would have been preferable.

      G'day Colin,

I think I have seen the preview pix of the SW Puma over on ARC and was slightly tempted but I also hope that Italeri would get around to a 1/48 version at some point,

      cheers,

Likewise; it took me a while to find the right forum, but this is definitely it!  Lots of positive feedback, some serious knowledge and a very generous spirit.

      Happy 2019!

Happy Christmas Colin, hope you are well?

We've had a bit of the lurgy here but enjoying a well needed break and trying to get this Stirling finished in the next few days!

Hows the Puma build coming along?

      Cheers

      Hi Colin,

its RA679 of 12 sqn Binbrook around 1950. Suffered damage on 24th Aug when doing a 3 engined landing and hit a bank causing an undercarriage collapse,

      cheers

Scale not a big deal; I can multiply / divide!  I haven’t heard anything from TC in a good while.

Had a look for the drawings this am, will have to dig harder to find the them!! Pity, I was hoping to get some Wildcat parts from him. I have a physical address and was going to try and contact him whilst i was in the UK in August but ran ourt of time!

I mastered the engine cover whilst making the parts for the Super Lynx the SA Navy uses, which is now available from Scalewrox in Cape town, as his his 48th Allouette III. There are pics on ther IPMS Cape Peninsular FB page.

      Hi Colin,

i noticed your your photos on Facebook, absolutely made up for you with your new lady friend. Modelling has slowed down, partly due to work, partly due to 1/1 scale stuff, namely the house! Apart from that all good.

ill have to have a look for your Skyraider :)

      cheers

  9. Hi Enzo. I have a banner designed by my Bros which I'd like to use on the STGB. How do I go about using it?

    Thanks in advance.

You can simply add it in to your signature.  You could also edit your welcome  and rules post to add it in there.  If you send me a link to the banner, I will add it in to all the other pinned threads in the STGB forum.

Hi Enzo. That might be easier said than done. When it comes to computers, I'm a bit doff! I can't find my signature and I got he banner from my bros via an email.

      What do you suggest?

      Colin
