Really nice looking build. Must say it has something of the Luft 46 genre about it.

What a lovely job you've done on an interesting little vehicle. The Italians used these to 'good' effect against the Ethiopians who under British officers had little to stop them. However, on at least one occassion a number of these tanks and their supporting soft skinned vehicles were crushed by rocks being pushed over cliffs onto them after being lured into a ravine! Nasty way to go but interesting diorama possibility.

Martin Maryland - "Warburtons War"
Lazy Builder replied to Peter Marshall's topic in Malta 1940 - 42 GB
Always been interested in Warburton a great British eccentric. From photos I've seen of his aircraft they all seem rather tatty so looking forward to seeing your weathering. Those engines are superb. Great pictures too. -
Having had some eye irritation and breathing problems with some shower cleaners I would issues I would be very careful spraying this sort of stuff, including goggles, proper face mask and ideally a good quality spray booth chucking the fumes outside. Although it may be cheaper it's not formulated for use in a confined space so be careful. (Sorry about the missing reply above - cuddly daughter pressed the mouse by accident.)

The more of this sort of model I see the more I like them. The lights add something special and as said above brings it to life. This is a really tasty build, thanks for showing us.

I'm sure this will be an amazing build and worth whatever you decide you want to pay but - where are you going to put it when it's built? I've a 1/48th B-25 and I've been thinking about where it would fit when it's built but 1/32nd do you live in a mansion?

Do you think the serial numbers on the Voyager is a hint?

Airfix Spitfire Mk XIV in the works
Lazy Builder replied to Spitfires Forever's topic in Aircraft WWII
As you gents are obviously keen on Spits do you know if there is a vac-form replacement hood for the Academy FR XIVe 1/48. I've got most of the kit but no 'lid'. Incidentally if Airfix are going to put a Mk XIV out, I'd like one too! -
I've just found this thread and until now I wasn't interested in Venturas, I remember reading a comic article about the disasterous raid on the Phillips works and as a child I didn't like unsuccessful planes. Your build has made me want to find out more, I didn't realise they were used so extensively. Looking forward to seeing the finished item. Cheers, Ian

Nice build - I bought one of these last weekend from Trevor at Train Times in Eastbourne, (he still has his 10% offer running so shame not to). The kit looks lovely in the box and I've seen a Black Dog storage set which looks good too. I've always liked the Staghound and would have preferred the Mk1 with the Lee type turret and I think that Bronco are due to bring it out at some stage.

Scratchbuilt Sopwith Dolphin in 1/72nd scale

Not only a fantastic model but a masterclass too. Great work! -
I love the Saetta and have tried to build the SMER version which is showing its age and is just too much like hard work. I have the Italeri version and if I can get it to look as good as yours I will be very pleased. Nice job, well done. Ian

Huey Medevac Version/ ITS DONE/FINISHED
Lazy Builder replied to shark 64's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
I've just found this post and spent most of the evening reading through the thread and all I can say is you have definitely won! I'm selling all my kits and 'makings' tomorrow morning. Then I'm off to sit in the corner and wish my life away. This is truly a masterpiece and deserves to be recognized as such, does the Smithsonian know about your work? Very best wishes Ian -
As has already been mentioned the aircrew in Monogram kits are pretty good and because they are the same plastic as the kits conversion should be relatively simple ( he says never having done it!) I have a standing USAF pilot from a Monogram kit I built and painted years ago and a Japanese pilot from a Tamiya Zero Type 22. I enjoyed them so much I started building Airfix Napoleonic figures for a while. I've recovered no and I'm back with aircraft so....... Be careful what you do, it could change your life!

Academy Hunter F6
Lazy Builder replied to fu_manchu's topic in Hawker Hunter Single Type Group Build
This is looking very good it'll be nice to see it finished. As an aside what sort of airbrush do you use? -
I haven't a clue where I could store one let alone display a built model. I've been a bit sceptical about this plane since its inception but now it's almost 'real' I think it looks good. It'll cost a fortune to fill with vehicles and the like. I'm looking forward to seeing some on competition tables.

Those things look really nice, particularly the fuel tanker. Nice work.

FAA Helldiver and a Test Mule
Lazy Builder replied to Tony C's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Both these builds are realy lovely and both capture the look of the originals. I particularly like the Helldiver with the 3 bladed prop, I don't know why but it very different somehow like it should? I would be very happy to produce such good results. -
I've been after a Monogram one from Ebay for a while but I don't fancy paying a lot for yesterday's product even though it's a nice kit. My GW Devastator arrived at the weekend and it looks lovely in the box. Needless to say there are already several reviews on other sites which suggest it has some deficiencies, notably modelling the canopy in the open position, but IMHO the moulding is the state of the art and my biggest concern will be not to lose any of it during construction. I intend to think about the way ahead before taking a knife to the sprues. I assume that there will be another issue for the pre-War aircraft as, from research, I think only VT-8 used the 2-gun mounting in the rear cockpit operationally, most combat aircraft had only one gun. Although it's a pricey item I think it's worth it bearing in my some of the prices asked by other companies for re-run, often needing aftermarket upgrades. However, you pays your money and you takes your choice. Best wishes Ian
