  1. I second Lloyd, looks like we are going to have a few of these Airfix 1/72 Skyhawks being built
  2. Well as co-host for this GB I would like to thank Mish for setting everything up for us. Both Lloyd and myself decided to keep things simple on this one with the rules. Lets all have fun with this, and hopefully keep the rivet counters at bay
  3. For this GB I will be building two of the Airfix 1/72 A-4 Skyhawk kits The first model will be completed as a A-4Q from the aircraft carrier 25 de Mayo as she would have been around May/June 1982 The second model will be completed as a A-4C from San Julian around May 1982, I will be painting the ID panels yellow not the turquoise shown on the decal sheet, as this was the original color when first deployed
  4. Just finished this one up Revell/ Monogram 1/24 Cartoon Network "Wacky Racing" Monte Carlo Decals by Slixx Paint interior is Model Master Voodoo Grey, exterior Model Masters White Final coat after the decals two thin coats of future
  5. Time for the first update Removed the molded on pedals and will replace them with ones from a 96 Monte Carlo Worked on the wheels and tires, filled the sink holes in the rims, sanded out the mold line around the tires, the detailed up and pained the rims and tires
  6. Nice one Lloyd, unusual subject for the US Navy
  7. Hi Rob Yes the tidy version, my skills are not good enough to even attempt the "after hitting the wall look"
  8. This will be my entry to the US Navy Group Build This is the 2006/2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, driven by Shane Huffman in the 2006 Busch Series at Phoenix International Raceway The car, as you can see was sponsored by the US Navy This is the kit I will be using, the Revell 2007 FedEx Monte Carlo The Decals are by Power Slide And just to show it does not always go to plan
  9. Mark nice to see you decided to joint the buddy build The warp on the Thunderbird shell is normal, I have 6 of theses and all have a warp to some degree or another The other part part you will have fun with is the joint between the front fender and body, on my Mac Tonight body I also had to shim out the rear fender to get it to fit right Looking at your hood this looks like it fits well, I have had to shim out my one all round to get a sort of decent fit, (Thanks Evergreen) Are you going to build the model kerbside or display the engine You might want to try and fit the airducts before paining I had to break apart the Kicker Bar and the Petty Bar to get my ones in on the McDonald's Taurus If you do I would leave the two bars off until the Chassis paining is finished then fit the air ducts the fit the painted bars I don,t know what glue you are using but I find the Monogram/Revell plastic just loves the Mr Cement S Look forward to seeing this one come together
  10. Time for an update Wheels and tires done Chassis and firewall assembled Body filled, primed and painted, this has had two coats of Future That just leaves the Rear suspension assemble, Drive train assembly, Glass work and Decals
  11. Nice work Lloyd that NMF is the best yet

  19. OK as you will see I have switched cars, big problems with the decals It seemed like they were too small, but this could just be down to me as this is my first car build Well have made some progress The engine is completed The body is painted and decals on, only ones i had a bit of a problem with was the headlight decals, but some Solvaset soon sorted them out
