  1. After talking with Mish and Lloyd, and as it seams this will not get the required support to have it as a GB, we have decided to do a "buddy build"

What we will do is post up in the Vehicle Non Military forum under the title of NASCAR BUDDY BUILD, if you want to join in just post your builds up in the forum with the title

NASCAR BUDDY BUILD then what you are building ie Tony Stewart #14 Burger King 2009 Daytona Chevy Impala Pepsi 400 Winner

No time limit so if you wish to join you can fit it around your other builds in progress

  2. Nice one Lloyd, you going to try and beat your build total for last year of 58 completed models?

For those of you who do not know Lloyd, he can build a model OOB (it was a 1/48th Airacobra) the day before the club contest, as that was the only class he did not have anything for.

Enter it, mind you it did have wet paint signs next to it LOL, and take first place 1/48 OOB

  3. Very nice Mish - prefer the blue background.

One very minor point that can be checked with google, This aircraft had white wall tyres like a car.

This is Bud's first P-51B Old Crow 43-12315,this was an ex-RAF P-51B which did not have the white wall tyres

    43-12315 P-51B 363 B6-S Anderson Capt. Clarence E Jr. "Bud" Old Crow Ex RAF issue a/c FX863. Lost 22 March 44 - Lt. Carter L Jones POW

The P-51B you are referring to is 43-24823 which did have the white wall tyres

43-24823 P-51B 363 B6-S Anderson Capt. Clarence E Jr. "Bud" Old Crow a/c to Overstreet.

    43-24823 P-51B 363 B6-O Overstreet Lt. William B Berlin Express + Artwork - Winged Mustang, a/c from Anderson

This aircraft later became The Berlin Express complete with the white wall tyres and the squadron code letters B6-0

I have checked the decals Mish has used from Eagle Strike, and the manufacture has used the wrong number on the tail for the aircraft depicted

  4. I have put the Hasegawa F-14 to one side, yes all the normal issues with this kit.

I would like to get a Tomcat finished for this GB and with this in mind I have gone for the Hobby Boss F-14A kit.

I will be adding the following

    1. Aires Resin Cockpit (on order will have this early next week)

    2. Aires Resin Burner Cans (as above)

    3. Quickboost ejection seats with safety belts

    4. Master Alfa Probe & Angle of Attack Probe

    5. Resin wheels, these will be either Aires or Wolfpack

    6. Wolfpack F-14A update set (this is for the Tacan antenna)

    7. Decals will be from Fightertown, their VF-84 Victory in the Storm, not sure which aircraft I will be doing yet

    8. Weapons, if I do the CO's aircraft, 201 (early), 201 Cat Snatch Fever (the all grey one) or CAG's aircraft 200 (early-late cruise) I will use the Eduard Brassin Sidewinder's, Sparrow and Phoenix missiles
