I can imagine what that must be like. Apart from the bit about being at 400m deep!. That would be yet another kind of experience. The most I have managed is a 'tourist scuba dive' in the med. It must almost feel like travelling through time being the first person handling an object so old. So I am not totally off topic I concur with those who would leave this Halifax where it is in the fjord as a memorial to the two crew who died.

It must be an amazing feeling to see the live feed from the cameras, knowing that it has been hidden and unknown for so many years. The fuselage skinning does look very corroded though. Hopefully it can be identified and the names of the brave crewmen can be known.

I bought one and it has an impressive assortment of boxes containing lots of parts. As noted by others it has a few inaccuracies but nothing that is not fixable, unless you want to build a 100% perfect Tiger 1 Mid right out of the box. The most obvious errors (to me anyway - I am no expert) are the early type centre to the drive sprocket hubs. They are domed, not flat, and the inaccurate lower plate at the front which has moulded in protrusions to accommodate the drive gears from its RC origins. Aftermarket parts can be very expensive but I have picked up a few by keeping an eye on ebay. This site also carries lots of parts for upgrading and fixing 1/16 Tiger 1 kits and RC versions. http://www.welshdragonmodels.co.uk/ I think its worth the money for what you get in the box!

Anyone excited about NEW Tool 1/72 Airfix Supermarine Swift?
daldroflas replied to Steven Corvi's topic in Aircraft Cold War
Looking forward to the Swift and would love to see Airfix release a 1/72 Lightning F1 with the 'old kit' 111 Squadron markings. -
That looks superb. I have an Eduard IXc in the stash and yours is a great inspiration.

That is truly a work of art. Beautifully done paintwork and weathering as well as a very nice build. -
That looks excellent! Nice build indeed. And a happy birthday to the Spitfire.

If you cannot get hold of replacements from Tamiya then Creative Models sell the Academy Europe track sets suitable for some M4 variants: http://www.creativemodels.co.uk/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=academy+track+35&x=10&y=9 I'm not an expert so this is not 100% certain but a quick Google indicates that the T-49 or T-54 type are suitable for an M4A3. This set gives you 3 sets of T-54 tracks. Overkill maybe but you may want to build more or sell on the spare 2 sets. http://www.creativemodels.co.uk/academy_135_t54_chevron_steel_track_vvss_3_sets-p-23899.html I know other companies make M4A3 track sets and the list could go on forever. I hope this is of help,

Hi, I'm looking for help obtaining a scan or webpage address that has assembly instructions for the Trumpeter 1/35 00378 Geschutzwagen Tiger for 17cm K72 kit. I won one on eBay that was being sold minus instructions. Usually the Hobby Search website would save the day, but not this time. http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10062489 Only a couple of pages with no assembly instructions. I'm having trouble getting help via the Trumpeter website but will persevere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Incredible skill and patience Don. My eyes hurt just looking at the pictures of the photo etch work! -
Very nice work for sure!

eek! I have one of those in the stash to build as well. I knew it wasn't very accurate but it looks like a big project to do it justice!

Thank Mark! PM sent. -
oops... No offence meant, I thought it was part of a humorous dialogue! T'internet can be very limiting I'm afraid. My sincere apologies if it looked spiteful.

I managed to get decent results using masking tape sliced into thin strips so they had a bit of bend. I'm sure the purpose designed tape will work much better. It took a few attempts but looked good in the end. That was on a 1/48 Spitfire fuselage. I found that it was easier to just pencil mark the stripes mid fuselage and then 'eyeball' the tape strips from the marks. (Try as I might I could not pencil in stripes around the entire fuselage that looked anything like parallel) It was trial and error until they looked parallel. I painted the entire area of the stripes white first then masked off the white and painted the black.
