Misalignment would mean that at the other side the step is opposite with the back fuselage part protruding: Unfortunately it is the same, meaning that the back part is narrower that the nose part. This is such a let down, considering that it is at such an obvious position. If my second one is ok, I will ask them to replace the part. But I doubt this 😞

,,, Same problem, although slightly less, on the other side...

I still feel love and affection for the old Hasegawa F-4E... By the way, still waiting for a good replacement (yes, I know I keep whinging like an old goat)

It depends on what is "the best" for you. Regardless of the details, an error in the basic structure - form (it is the fuselage we are talking about) for me is a no-go issue. I wouldn't really enjoy the situation where after spending a year to super detail something, I end up with a model that is having such an obvious shortcoming. But this is just me...

Not fair to quote such an old post. But you do have a point. I am 48. Running out of time lol.

I expected it would have been fixed. Apparently it didn't. How am I to blame for? 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Many thanks! The good thing is that there are so many after market decal sets for the MPM kit. Should fit this one too....
-
I guess this one has the corrected fuselage cross section, right?

Test fitting parts and devices on the right side of the fuselage. All looking good so far. The EA-6B and A-6 forum members feedback has been proved invaluable!

Some small progress.. Test fitting of the parts inside the fuselage, above the Birdcage... A lot of cabling is yet to be added and some small devices here and there. But basically the left side is done...

Has any aftermarket brand made f-14 wings with separate moving parts? This would bring Tamiya f-14 back in my shopping list... for now! -

Totally agree. But this is also why Tamiya has not blown anything up. If she had given all those really expected only from tamiya, only then would have indeed blown everything up lol. -

They have a market of more than 2b non English speakers and potential buyers. That's why they do not care.

Can you post an example. I am very much interested to see how different type of screws or rivets are represented in 1/72. And if it will make any sense under two layers of color and two layers of varnish (that's my standard but may not be for others). Thanks, DIO

Tamiya has produced a very good model, with correct dimensions and a lot of potential. This is light years away from actually "blowing everything up". I find the landing gear simply acceptable and the fact that there are no moving parts for the wings, simply unacceptable. On the other hand it seems that there will soon be another release that will indeed "blow everything up". In Greek we say, Hope is the last to die lol
