  1. I have just finished painting Accurate Armours Antar with trailer in xtracrylix bronze green. The vehicle I'm looking at replicating is a photo of a vehicle in bronze green but the Antar unit is in a glossy finish. I can't make out on the photo if the trailer is also gloss finish. The tank on the back isn't and I like the contrast between worn battle weary tank and shiny almost new transporter. There's three things I'm asking how common was it to see a gloss bronze green vehicle in service? Would the matching trailer be finished in gloss also? Did the maintenance crews ever paint the wheel nuts red and white on a vehicle in service? Thanks Rich
  2. I'm at the painting stage of Trumpeters BR52 Locomotive I've opted for the black and red pattern. Now the main steam tube and the cab are all matt black. I've painted these in Vallejo matt black which looks all too one colour. How can i slightly weather the black I don't want it too beaten up just want to break the monotone black up?
  3. Thankyou very much didn't think the exact colour existed!!
  4. I'm currently building Accurate Armours Antar tank transporter and have come to the painting stage. I want to paint her in the usual deep bronze green does anyone know an acrylic paint that's a match to this colour? Ta muchly Rich
  5. Hi yes me again with another Victor question (thanks for everyone's help so far). I've read somewhere on this forum that in 1/72 scale panel lines on this aircraft would be unseen and you can sand the panel lines off accordingly. Am I right in thinking this is just a cast of sanding the whole model smooth or is it more involved than that? Thanks Rich
  6. I'm building a Matchbox Victor to do as a bomber and I'm using a set of flightpath resin intakes. I measured and marked the wings precisely (this is my first time at cutting a kit to accept resin parts). With the wings cut the resin intakes fitted beautifully, however trying to fit the completed wing section into the slot in the fuselage results in the wings pointing upwards. Do I need to trim the resin intakes to create the correct wing angle or glue it at the correct angle and fill the resulting gaps?
  7. Hannants have the victor and valiant but no Vulcan do they do a vulcan sheet?
  8. I'm going through the motions of building all 3 v bombers I have all the parts except for a set of decals for the anti flash white scheme. I know freight dog used to do a set and model alliance did a set but can't find any from my usual suppliers does anyone know of any other suppliers who would have these decals in stock? Thanks Rich
  9. Is it just the wingspan that needs amending or are there any other noticeable differences I need to add? Hi Neil yes it was me who asked you about the Victor at Cosford. Thanks for the replies people Rich
  10. Hi now I must admit I'm a armour modeller primarily but am about to venture into aircraft modelling for the first time by building the V force bombers. I have the matchbox Victor bomber but don't know what if anything is needed to be done to it to make it a bomber? Can anyone advise me? Thanks Rich
  11. That looks stunning would you mind running through the steps in the weathering process?
