  3. I totally agree, besides SADF/ SANDF, the Ratel used by various African Union countries and Morocco etc but I'm happy that the Rooikat is getting some injection molded plastic all the same, hopefully a Ratel will follow
  4. Was it something I said? Ok, the @"Mystere mystery " is solved, as per this site-( http://www.sky-high.co.il/134771/סער-84 ) Super Mystere B2 was sent to Israel for overhaul and once finished was painted in French cammo but was retained and used in Israel, there are two black and white photos. " It was one of a group of six Super Mystere aircraft of the French Air Force aircraft industry reached renovations from September to November 68. After the renovation planes were painted camouflage scheme of the French Air Force and were expected to reach Djibouti but remained in the country and transferred for use in the Air Force.
  5. Has anybody ever seen a photo of an IAF Mystere B2 in the boxart (French) cammo scheme? I really like it but I have never come across a photo or profile of that before
  6. Wow that's an absolute beauty, great job
  7. Wow Mitchem those are both beautiful
  8. Hi Jure, I have a smallish colour photo showing two F-84's with Israeli Star of David markings, 1-NX with red tail stripes and the other has black or green tail stripes, unfortunately I cannot post the pic at the moment but here is a link to the same photo. http://idfrss.deviantart.com/art/F-84F-from-France-to-Israel-595385690 Ha... ok same pic as Scott
  9. A good 1/48 Ah-1G Cobra and 1/48 Fiat G91R
  10. I coulden't help myself....I had to mail them and beg for a 1/48, 1/32 Alouette III and a 1/48 Sa 330 Puma....C'mon Italeri...Pleasssseeee
  11. Gary, I totally agree with your list....we should be so lucky
  12. Man that's looking good, you do not have too far to go, what green did you use?. I noticed on mine that the canopy is a good 1-1.5mm wider (in total) than the fuselage
  13. That's great news, I look forward to seeing it. I received one of these kits yesterday...its going to be a tough build, you have done a great job on it. C'mon Airfix....how about a new 1/48 Puma.....and Wasp, Gazelle, Alouette III etc etc
  14. South African Airforce had a few Beaufighter squadrons operating overt the Balkans in WW2 as well but they wore pretty much standard RAF schemes and markings on their "Beau's without it seems the customary painting over the red on the roundels with orange as was standard SAAF practice. http://wp.scn.ru/en/ww2/b/296/216/0
  15. Yikes dude...I havent started yet, Im still wrestling with my 1/48 Su-7/Su-22 to Su-22M2 conversion....
  16. Thats great news.......Oh for a SA 330 Puma...Alouette III.....Gazelle
  17. Pretty much finished with this one...I made a lot of mistakes but learned a lot of leassons. Built straight out of the box, only added Tamiya tape seatbelts. Painted with the "newish" Humbrol RLM enamels straight out of the tin. Together with a Bf109G6/AS
  18. I am more or less done with the Tanzanian Shenyang F-6, the only problems that I had were with the fitting of the gunbay/nosewheel/intake area but that may have been due to my own clumsiness. It is the 1/48 Trumpeter Mig-19S/Shenyang F-6 built as the F-6 straight out of the box besides the decals. Painted with Humbrol enamels and the decals were custom made for me by "MavDecals" in South Africa, many thanks Zane.( http://mavdecals.co.za/ ) Sometime when in the mood I will weather it a little more and highlight some panel lines, dull down the semi gloss a bit but for now I am considering it done! Oh!!!....and add the antennae mast next to the cockpit that I see to have forgotton... These are how the colours actually look on the finished kit (first pic) , the colours are distorted a bit in the rest of the photo's of the finished kit.
  19. On the subject of the Mirage IIIC, lets not forget that the South African Air Force also operated the IIIC and flew it in combat in the 1970's and 80's wearing at least three basic cammo schemes. Natural metal, deep buff/olive drab and finally air superiority grey and a number of special schemes.
  20. Finally got some photos loaded into photobucket so here are some updates. I used a lot of glue in this area to ensure strong joints, the wings are not glued, they were just in place to help hold everything in the correct position. Before... After sanding, now to rescribe the lost detail I still have some cleaning up to do.
