  1. Cheers guys, was all brush work for this one (enamel for the body) but have since treated myself to a nice airbrush so I can try to get them even shinier. The door cards were a little tight but went in with some gentle persuasion. I'm a little dissapointed that the bonnet doesn't open much so you can't see much of the engine. Think I have some pics before the engine went in that'll I'll try to rake out but there's some nice detail on the underside that I should photograph too. Lighting was just the halogen spot lights in the kitchen(I can aim the ones on the ceiling at the subject). Was trying out my new 90mm tilt & shift lens in the first shot above - the model is at an angle to the camera but the plane of focus runs parallel with it. That was only with a tiny amount of sideways tilt too
  2. Finished this one a week or two back so apologies for all the dust and finger prints. Revell 1:24 kit but I didn't stick to the suggested colours for the interior. My first yank tank! There seemed to be some issues with the decals on the roof being too long and the ones on the rear too short. Is this kit like that or did I lose the plot? The boot doesn't open but I thought the hacked up biker would help sort out the weight distribution Next time I won't do a black biker in a black boot though! Probably should have tidied up some things up but am cracking on with the next model...I'll get one right one day....I hope Cheers, Andy
  3. Lovely work......you've just put one of these on the top of my to-get list! The finish and detail look cracking (doubt mine will turn out so well).
  4. Nice work. I got one of the Jagermeister ones but let SWMBO build it.....if I can find one of the Rothmans ones I'll have to hide it from her as I really like that one I take it's a similar kit for them all? Didn't seem to be that many parts.
  5. What's your thoughts on pink, yellow and blue with Peppa Pig stickers? Red it is this time though
  6. I still like the gold FXX I did. Quite fancy doing Jamiroquai's black devil car (an Enzo) at some point too.
  7. Looks fantastic....will need to keep my eyes peeled for something like that. Am doing my first 1/12th Tamiya bike at the moment but not seen cars that scale....yet Look forward to seeing this build progress.
  8. Cracking work so far. Not sure the Revell 250 GTO I got for this GB is quite as nice (had to get it out the box and see what the wheels and dash were like after seeing yours!) but am looking forward to getting stuck in. I keep forgetting to get a brown to do the wood steering wheel....any recommendations for paint when I do remember?
  9. Thanks.....but I should have added that my g/f painted the R8 for me. I sometimes let her help between making me cups of tea
  10. I'll leave the finished F40 for another time as I really liked that kit and will probably do another one after a bit more practice.... Can get through quite a few models with 5 months off work! I also did 9 planes
  11. The Enzo was my first and was lucky to make it TBH. First of all I tried putting it together with balsa glue and kept wondering why it kept falling apart. I'd bought the wrong glue and hadn't bought any paint because I hadn't realised you were supposed to paint them! (no seriously!!) As is clearly visible from the windshield my first attempt at "glass" was far from a success once I'd got a tube of glue from the paper shop doon the road. I forgot to put a few bits on too.... :shithappens: ......but some Crayola paints in the hands of a 4 year old fixed all that Was off sick at the time so I'm blaming the pills the doc gave me Cheers, Andy
  12. A false alarm today then? I dropped you an email to let you know I'd signed up but got your OOF. Look forward to seeing this one done....have been impressed with the other ones you've done. I'm going to have to hide my poor attempts at planes if you come round for a cycle Cheers, Andy
  13. As promised Good eh? I may have had some help with it.....
  14. Thanks....also have a few more lying about now waiting to have their pic taken (R8, 206 rally car and a Yamaha somethingorother)
  15. Well the Enzo it something to behold. Am quite confident it's unique and quite possibly even built to a standard never seen before I'll get the tripod out and charge my flash batteries.....
  16. Sounds like a great opportunity to learn from some far more experienced builders.....count me in. Not sure what I'll build yet but I'm thinking modern and front engine as I've only done mid engines so far. I'll have to go to the shop and see. Maybe I'll be able to get an airbrush before then and make it my first attempt at using it
  17. Will do and thanks for the warm welcome everyone I've also done a F40 race car, F50, Enzo and a 430 but there's loads more model kits and I've loads more window ledges to display them on....look forward to the group build. Next up for me is a Shelby GT 500.
  18. Hi folks A friend (silverburn) told me about this site and I must say I'm blown away by the standard on here. Looks like I've got much to learn! Here's a few of my efforts so far.... Ferrari FXX (1/24 Tamiya) Nissan GT-R (1/24 Tamiya) Ferrari F2007 (just finished earlier today) (1/24 Revell) All done with paints and brushes.....just starting out but enjoying it so planning to get an airbrush soon. Advice welcome. Andy
