  1. Not yet, a few other things got in the way. Also, sad to hear that Frank Hout (Adats Coyote above) passed away last year. A hugely talented builder.
  2. Part 1: Background and opening the box: Here are some photos I took of the Legend Productions ADATS (Air Defence Anti-Tank System) conversion for the M-113. Box Art: Left side Turret: Right side: Underside of front plate. I include this photo to show the robust pour plugs used. You are going to want a saw & dremel for these. Removing them will add some time to the build, but you won't waste any time trying to straighten warped parts: Turbine Power Plant Unit, Radar, lights, Smoke grenade launchers, Electo-Optical Module, Observer Sight Chair Cover, and Missile end cap: Laser module, OS Chair mount bracket, AMU, Hull sides - these allow you to build the ADATS with the missile loading platform in the raised position. Hull roof underside. What I like about this is the long side pour plugs look like they are far enough inboard so the won't have to be removed: Missile Yoke. This part is less than 1-inch long. Amazing. Yoke, Missile tubes, end caps: External Fuel Tanks (wonder if Legend will release these as a separate item?) Missile Loading Platforms and front/side hull panels. Various struts to support the platform, EO Module bracket, wind sensor, rear loading platform: In what I believe is a first for Legend, they have included a decal sheet. This is great, as the ADATS has some unique markings that would be difficult to reproduce otherwise. Markings are for 11C, an ADATS from "A" Troop, 119 Bty, 4th Air Defence Regt. And for a first effort at printing decals, check out the crispness...the red hand warning placard is only 3/16" wide and you can still read it in English ou en francias. A single sheet of etch and some brass wire: 4-page full colour instruction sheet. Intermediate modelling skills required.
  3. The Weasel is a 4x4 variant of the Mowag Piranha II used by Recce Sqns in Armoured Regts. It served from 1979-1999 until replaced by the Coyote. Kit bash of the Trumpeter AVGP Grizzly.
  4. I got a used Nikon coolpix 995 off ebay for $56. Takes 300 dpi, great macro function.
  5. A little bit of mud, some oil stains, and I'm calling it done.
  6. Those castings turned out great! Really nice work.
  7. Thanks guys! I've added another layer of filth to it using oil paints (which is why its a bit shiny in spots). Not too much left to do now. Some light mud for the wheels, a bit of rust and dirt for the tracks, the stowage, and maybe some light chipping.
  8. Cheers guys. Troffa, I'm 99% sure they were new construction 76mm turrets.
  9. Started the weathering process. I think I'm going to keep it pretty light...mainly because I've forgotten how to weather!
  10. Back from the grave....decided to make it the victim of a traffic accident or something minor. It will be getting a tow back to camp from an AVGP Husky.
  11. I just realized this topic was titled Coyote when it should be Cougar. Not that it matters much as I'm not sure I feel like taking it any further... I tried a new-to-me technique of chipping using enamel paints weakened by thinners over top of a protected acrylic base. I know this works, I've see other get results. I did something wrong and the paint came off in strips and sheets SO, I stripped it completely and decided to re-paint it. Wanted to make sure all the thinner had evaporated before I started painting and decided to speed up the process with the hair dryer... ....and melted the marine drive cover... ...and a tie rod... [ Tempted to try making my first KO'd vehicle with this. I've got a nice set of Lifecolour Rust paints that I've yet to try out.
  12. I've added some markings, but now that I see it on the screen here, I want to scrape them off and get it right. I'll have to source a smaller white star, and instead of red decal paper on the 'general plate', I'm going to paint it a darker cherry-red. Also, the AoS # is incorrect, but I'm going to work on that too. I just wanted to get on to the weathering and in rushing this step have created more work.
  13. Cheers gang! I've done some small detail painting. The tracks were actually pretty easy to do, I just pulled them away from each roadwheel as I worked my way along. It's been gloss coated and decalled. I've yet to decide how weathered its going to be.
