  1. Spray at low pressure and perpendicular to the surface. At high pressure and an angle, the fall in pressure causes it to dry before landing on your model, causing microscopic bobbliness and shade changes. 2 bar or lower. It dries astonishingly quickly
  2. Well it will look even worse next year. 1/32 would be out on dole money. 1/128 anyone?
  3. The Lancaster flew over yesterday flying west from Bishops Waltham
  4. mmmmmmmmmmmmm. Alice Whats the consensus on Alys Fowler?
  5. I agree its a lovely prop. Laminations sometimes look overdone. I was at Shuttleworth last week and looked at a Sopwith Scout original prop. The wood is quite dark and laminations only visible very close up. You have it spot on and I would like to copy your method, if you would like to share?
  6. The Burning Blue has some alternative viewpoints and home front stuff of interest.
  7. http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.ph...c=29783&hl= its as big as the Ju88!
  8. I photo'd the bigger enlargement of this picture in the BoB hangar at Shuttleworth. Anyone know who to contact re the provenance of the pic? The original print on the wall was stunning and I thought of east end London under the cloud. There is more detail on the original.
  9. http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.ph...29750&st=15 Sorry I cant seem to post photos, but here is a link to a photo of a display at Shuttleworth with a pilot bailing out of a Hurri. Its over a city. Is this real wartime footage or a still from Battle of Britain? Any one Know? And can someone save the snap and post it here? Its mine... the copy..
  10. Well Mr Song has now posted images in the thread on LSP...AND the test shot of the Sturmovik! Death to the Fascist Occupiers! ooer politics.....
  11. Is that you selling the Camels on ebay Iain?
  12. http://s511.photobucket.com/home/andloveme...tuploads?page=2 Is that or is that not a 1/32 Typhoon cockpit and engine? I think this is Mr Songs photobucket site. Look at album F100......
  13. That would be great. Thanks for the info chaps. I think the plane was based at RNAS Arbroath in 1940. There is a profile in the warpaint I think. Sky would look better than Sky Grey.........Its a mark 1a too Steve, so its one of the very earliest land based sea hurris with hardly any sea mods and no arrestor. I was using the Trumpeter mark 1 as a basis.
  14. Hi all, I am planning a FAA scheme for a mark 1 Sea Hurri. The colours are EDSG and slate grey with Sky grey undersurfaces. I am an acrylics man and know my RAF but not FAA colours. Is this Sky Grey available? Xtracrylics don't do it. Is it light aircraft grey or even sky? https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/DDK2401
  15. I used it on my Mig 3 recently and then sprayed Tamiya over it. It works a treat but does not reveal seam lines and blemishes as well as say Halfords primer. Smooth surface though and quick drying.
  16. A patrol of 115s was used as a decoy for the raid by Luftflotte 5 in the BoB on the North. Navigation went wrong and they nearly ended up with the same landfall IIRC. Wasnt that 15/8/40?
  17. Thanks fellas. How about a pointy Mig21. Is the fit OK?
  18. Chaps, I have been thinking of doing a 1/32 Jet in flight for the boys bedroom ceiling. I never do jets and I don't keep up with the new releases like I do with other stuff so I need advice. I want to build a colourful Jet OOB with a perfect fit and striking markings. Wheels up, canopy shut, panels closed. What would you advise? I was pondering the F100, Lightning or Mig21, but I am open minded.
  19. I am reading Mckinstrys Lanc book and the erks say in that that some long missions completely burnt off some of the the exhaust stubs. Every mission each stub was checked for cracks with a tuning fork, so they were of varying maturity and sometimes very burnt indeed! I spray Gunze burnt iron and then drybrush brass, black and finally very dry-brushed gunmetal. They need to be very Matt as stated. I add a bit of deck tan to the nozzle as hot exhast stain, then use tamiya smoke in the direction of airflow, densest near the zorst.
  20. Look at the Dzus fasteners on that!
  21. Good God! Does it really matter? Are you MAD? To us LSPers 1/32 and up is life itself and 1/48th is the ...er.. well its worse than INCEST
  22. yes thats 5.5 Chinese man's hands long....
  23. But look at the Dzus fasteners! Oh er hang on....
  24. Looks pants to me. I will wait for those evil germans at Revell to Pantograph our dear Trumpeters release. Its not like you to be so shy Steve? Are you looking for some Brits to hold your coat before you thoroughly diss it on HS?
  25. Theres also a story of a Soviet pilot , Maraseev I think? Who was shot down over the arctic and crawled for miles with 2 smashed legs thru the forest. Like Bader he flew as a bilateral amputee and became an ace.
