This is the Shuttleworth SE5a in 1962. I used Xtracrylics Silber and Alclad shades. The cowling is Chrome. Rigged with EZ line and Bobs Buckles. Decals are 1/48 84 inch type Bs from Xtradecals and 1/48 7 inch RAF serials. Lift here came from Pup spares. Plenty of ref photos on google images if you search.

I love it! Surely can no phrase ever have described something so well in a retranslated language. Perfect description.
The Spitfire is a quasi religious object in the UK, you understand?
" They took something perfect, then painted it red"
There was a new one on display at Farnborough that was same thicknesses but half the price of Tamiya, made in China. £1.50 a roll. Little cars had some and I think airbrushsupplyonline.com did too. I havent tried it yet.
I use the alclad steel on radial engines and then brush the jet exhaust on as a wash. works a treat.
You can get away without priming, but you will use a whole bottle getting a deep metal finish. Definitely polish the surface before and DEFINITELY wear a mask, as you will have silvery bogies!

Atmospheric film clip for you, not the same a/c but it gave me a buzz. Building a temp strip in Normandy.
I have a suspicion of a hunch of a feeling of a Spad, based on all the releases being featured on one of the other kits box art. A Camel too. I suspect there will be the Snipe on the Fokker box art and the Eindecker on the DH2.
Pure enjoyable speculation!
Similarly, the Trumpeter "dross" is nearly 10y old if you mean the Spit V. The Hurricane isnt dross.
Trumpeter are planning a 1/32 Hurri according to IPMS Phillipines, and a Spit 24.
Airfix have a UK brand following in 1/24 Erwin. Its a home market thing like Hasegawa sticking to recent Japanese planes.
