  1. I have just finished this using alclad and the Kagero decals with the Alleycat canopy. I used a 109E prop too. Enjoy!
  2. They should do the Typhoon treatment on a new BoB Spitfire 1
  3. It was meant to have a question mark not an exclamation mark. Flipping ipad
  4. Actually there's a mark2d being built on LSP take a look at http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=45461&hl=
  5. No.the undercarriage is fine and the tyres don't perish. The kit is terrific. I recommend trying Montex masks out as they need weathering in this scale and decals don't look quite so good. Try the hobby decal dry rub stencils too. It's a peach
  6. Well I'm glad you all like it...... I'll get my coat.
  7. Here we go. Apparently the gondolas were kept but without guns as MT422 flew like a banana without them!
  8. Yes they are. Snuggled down with a hair dryer then buffed with a miracle polisher
  9. They do grab a bit so coat the first decal with future to make it slippy before adding the second. Blow dry the decal with a hair dryer too and they soften and suck down and the a rub after with a cloth.
  10. Mainly Alclad Polished Aluminium, with other Alclad shades for countershading.
  11. The swordfish is lovely. Fit is great and detail good. Slats moulded closed unfortunately and it comes with really tough PE flat rigging cut to length, which I didn't like. I think the torpedo is the wrong mark. Decals too bright as usual but I did a prewar silver one with the excellent xtradecal set. It's big. There's some spurious lower wing rigging on the plan that you should be aware of. It's strong enough to have the wings open though.
  12. Crikey First they are paying the PLA. Now if we don't complain about in accuracy we are as bad as failing to act to speak out about Nazism! It's a plastic kit. But then again this wheel cannot be squared, as acres of inter web attest.
  13. I have built about 10 or so Trumpeter kits. It's fair to say they are mixed, especially the early ones such as the Mig 15. It's also true that their research has let them down, as in their spitfires, but I really get Miffed when the same myths get recirculated, without any corroboration. The dauntless is superb, but how can anyone believe the hard work was done by matchbox 30 y ago? Come on? Ditto the Swordfish. It's not at all a pantographed tamiya copy. The Avenger and Hurricane are superb and the big tanks amazing. And as for them funding the PLA, well that came from a well known Hyperscaler IIRC. The 109e is inaccurate, but the G6 is a nice kit and better than the Hasegawa version. That said I can't remember a review of it, as its presumably assumed to be bad. That's the problem. Assumptions.
  14. The finished job is in completed builds with better photos. Cheers.
