  1. Seeing this, yes, that sounds fun.

Did a Swiss F-5 Tiger in last year's STGB

Depending on the definition of a 'significant piece of artwork involving an animal' (does it include unit badges?), I could be tempted to build a Tiger tank

I believe some Tiger units used animal symbols; s.Pz.Abt. 501 used a tiger for their unit device, s.Pz.Abt. 502 used a mammoth, s.Pz.Abt. 503 used a tiger's head and s.Pz.Abt. 505 used mounted knights in various colours.
There is a possibility that 510 used a bear, but photo confirmation is lacking.

Pity this is limited to aircraft/tanks/cars.
A lot of British royalty included a lion or three (six?) in their coats of arms: Robert the Bruce (one lion); Richard I (two, later three lions), and Llywelyn ap Lorwerth, Prince of Gwynedd (four lions) to name a few.

  2. Thanks Craig.  Thinking about it, the wings will (probably) be assembled and painted off the model to allow access to the inner sides of the engine nacelles.

James, a bottle of AK's own 3 gen thinner arrived in today's post; that might make better sense.  Up 'til now, I've been using Vallejo flow improver with very mixed results.

  3. Interior painting has started on the Twin Pin.

I'm dithering about the colour of the passenger compartment.  Last time I looked at this photo, https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/7510801, I thought aged zinc chromate.  Now I'm thinking dark earth, with grey bulkheads.

The office will be black, with green seats.

I've seen black seats used too, but that's a very dark option.

A bit of exterior colour has been added too.
I'm starting this now, because the Twin Pioneer has struts, stub wings and windows in the most awkward positions for painting - think sesquiplane, with an extra thick outer strut masking the passenger windows.

FWIW, I'm using AK 3rd Gen acrylics here.  Out of the bottle they are very thick, and I haven't worked out suitable thinning and application techniques.

  4. Such as it is, work has started on my Pioneer

There are no location pins to guide the fuselage halves together, so I added plastic location guides to each fuselage half.
The belly under the passenger compartment wasn't given that treatment; the compartment floor will be too low to accept that.

This is a trick learned from my vac-form building days.

In addition, the cockpit floor under the instrument panel was raised, to bring the IP to a more sensible level.

    Those same parts, dry fitted:

   How about a seperate gallery in the Creatures GB for venomous stuff?

Thought I'd ducked giving a definition for "venomous"?
My starting point will be Which animals are venomous? Part 1 from the University of Melbourne School of Biomedical Sciences.
That does not give a definitive answer, but offers options.

Personally, I'd favour something like "it is not necessary {snip} that venom actually be used to subdue a prey animal, only that it be used to help the venomous organism secure a meal."
By this definition, a mosquito would be venomous.

I'm going to take up @Wez's offer, and merge this build into the All Creatures Great and Small GB

Some of us have signed up for that already.
The rest of us?  Well, I've just added My name there.
