CedB did a WIP of the Airfix P.1127. The link is here. I hope it helps.

MK V does not have the costal command items. These are a separate sprue.
Might I suggest that a request in trhe wanted section might turn up the required sprue from somebody who has not used it.

When my mother-in-law stands in the nude she looks like a wall of whitewash.
My mother-in-law's so fat she had to lose weight to model maternity frocks.
My mother-in-law sent her photograph to the Lonely Hearts Club. They sent it back saying they weren't that lonely.
I just got back from a pleasure trip. I took my mother-in-law to the airport. My mother-in-law said to me “If you were my husband. I’d put poison in your coffee.” I replied “If I were your husband, I’d drink it!”

Might I refer you to this link where Bill Matthews converts a AMT EC-135N (derived from the AMT KC-135) into a Boeing 720 in 1/72 scale. Starting with a KC-135 kit negates the need to fit a new nose as Bill did.
And I love the reference in the article to Hilton Jones of Cardiff who combined a Heller 707 with an Airfix C-130 to produce a Vanguard. Now that's converting!

repair the landing pad.
According to my newspaper today, the helipad was repaired yesterday (Friday).

I believe that when they rebuilt the Halifax at the Yorkshire Air Museum, Elvington, they used a set of Hastings wings as no Halifax wings could be found.

And as I write this I expect there is somebody at MoD hunting through the military aircraft equivilant of Autotrader looking for low hours Pumas so they don't have to spend lots on new Puma replacement helos. Beancounters win as always

They were on the shelves in my newsagent this morning. I left them there.

I'm sorry to come late to the party, but I found this supplier by searching on the web. I bought 8 shelves for my two Detolfs, and I've just fitted one, and it looks fine. The shelf is acrylic, not glass and supports up to 3kg. I ordered them early yesterday morning and they arrived about 3.30 today. As the models won't be moving on the acrylic it shouldn't scratch up.
One day Ikea will do an 8 shelf Detolf but until then, I'm sorted.

I do hope his coffin is covered with a chequered flag - somehow it seems appropriate.

I'm waiting for Oprah to interview the Airfix design team who will say "No matter how good we make the kits they're never good enough for some modellers"

it doesn't take much effort to take yourself off to Bovington or Saumur and take the dimensions from real tanks.
Or even spend about £20 on a book with photographs of the tank. I've looked in my meagre AFV library and in some you photos can clearly see the wheel bolts - all 8 of them on a wheel.

As for shops, the plan is still from April issue they will be back in all shops as they were before lockdown.
Well as I have missed many copies due to them not being available in my newsagents, I won't be buying them should they re-appear there.

Almost 2 whole pages on two missing bolts per wheel.
Wait until they put the wrong gear lever in the Austin ambulance - guaranteed 6 pages minimum.

My Cromwell IV and Cromwell VI arrived today from Jadlam (sharp price and quick delivery) and printed on the side of the box is "Made in Korea". I suspect that Academy have designed, tooled and moulded these for Airfix, especially going by the sand coloured plastic. Unless anybody knows different?

Has anybody placed orders since 1st January 2021 for kits or accessories from the EU? If so, did you have to pay VAT, Import charges or worst of all Post Office charges? I would prefer factual answers from people who have ordered items rather than somebody laying out what the rules should be.
The reason for this is that in the past, when GB was part of the EU, I used to buy from Europe with no problems but being on a pension, I'd rather not hand money to HMG and/or the Post Office.
I look forward to hearing your answers.

I wonder if SAMI & MAM will ever be seen again in the shops?

It might be better if this wasin the Aircraft modelling section, rather than Armour.

the way you say it’s a cautionary tale like you expect there to be more bad fujimi kits out there?
No, I'll just be wary of any second hand kit to check the contents match the box.
-
By the way, here's a cautionary story regarding 1/72 scale F-14s. Several years ago I bought a Fujimi F-14 from one of those 'under the table' boxes at a model show. The box was Fujimi F-14, on the vendor's price list it said Fujimi F-14 so I tookt it home and stashed it in the loft. During lockdown, I pulled it out of the loft with a view to making it. I opened the box to find inside not a Fujimi F-14 but what appears to be an Italeri F-14. I'm surprised the whole of my town didn't hear my comments on it. Next time I will open the box first at the show before parting with cash, and should I ever find the vendor I'd like to discuss his parentage.

What did you do for the engines?
I used a pair of exhausts from the Revell 1/32 F-14A, but not the actual exhausts bujustt the part inside the fuselage. These were reversed, cut to length and the ends removed then details added.
My Work in progress is here.

Well I built one using a Revell F-4F. I did it purely for reasons of economy as I had picked several up when Wonderland had them on sale at around £19.00 each. I used a resin nose cone from D J Parkins and some resin wheels for an F-4J as the F-4F ones are different.
Here it is unpainted
And now painted
So my advice would be to use the Revell kit to make the F-4M and use the F-4J to make an F-4J(UK).

Anyone posted a kit from UK to Italy? Once, and it disappeared, never to be seen again. Something not to be repeated.

Hello Dave
Just a few things to note - firstly your builds will improve over time so don't be looking for perfection with your first builds. I'd suggest starting with the Spitfire, as it's a fairly simple kit.
Secondly, as lockdown lifts, model clubs are starting up again. they are a great place to meet other modellers face to face and to get good advice. I can't recommend any clubs in your area personally but I note there is an IPMS Manchester branch which might be a starting place.
lastly, remember that no question is too daft to ask on Britmodeller - just take a look around the forums and see.
Good luck
Nigel
