  1. Outstanding art work. Thought a few Phantoms would do but I NEED some of the early Canadian versions and the Russian ones are superb!
  2. Wonderland Models have it for 99 + 6 postage
  3. About 8:10 an army Lynx flew over the Bruntsfield part of Edinburgh heading west ish. Not in much of a hurry and nice and low.
  4. Does the Flightpath airshow diorama set not include one?
  5. The ripped fabric on the side of the fuselage is very well done, very nice work.
  6. Seeing her coming round the corner, over the lighthouse is just too good. What a privilege and thank you for sharing!
  7. As suggested the Revell acrylic option was an absolute revelation! Decals now look part of the overall finish instead of just stuck on top of the paint and the camouflage colors dont appear as stack and jarring. A huge thanks to Seahawk for the tip but thanks to everyone else for their advice too.
  8. I'm in the same boat, read it, loved it then researched it a bit. Why does he provide no details of the mission where he allegedly forced a U-Boat to beach itself as mention in the appendix detailing his victories? Surely that would merit a mention in among all the 109's and 190's? Still all the accusations and rumor aren't going to put me off building my 48th scale Eduard Tempest V as 'Le Grand Charles'.
  9. Thanks for the suggestions guys, may have to try the Revell acylic option as I will be using it on completed models and the thought of masking them all off to spay bomb them is a little off putting!
  10. Keep looking at this in my LHS it really is a smart looking kit and it looks like it builds into a real beauty.
  11. Anyone have any experience of using this varnish on those paints? Having trouble brushing on a flat varnish that will tone down the lovely glossy Xtracrylix finish, including Xtracrylix's own flat varnish!
  12. Which strikes me as odd because the 4 ship formation saunters by quite sedately whereas the tiffee howls over then turns up the burners over the castle!
  13. Was it not 2 typhoons and 2 GR.4s? Only caught a brief glimpse between trees etc.
  14. Yeah sorry bout that they were quick n dirty during my lunch from my ipod may try to improve on them in the coming week.
  15. This one wins it for me! But with the added suggestion of the blue Royal Air Force on the continued white stripe.
  16. Love the one of the Herc flying low across the beach in the half light. Gorgeous!
  17. Thanks foe the nice comments guys, had it built, painted and decaled (all 8 of them) in under an hour!
  18. Hope this helps....... The National Museum in Edinburgh has Jackie's race suit, boots and helmet on display seemingly from the 71 season. Anyways I took a few snaps on my phone after seeing this thread the other night. p.s. Sorry about the reflection of my gut in the helmet visor!
  19. Here is one of the re-released Revell 1:144 Hurricanes with on of the 1:24 Trumpeter resin figure that was included in their 1:24 Spitfire Vb kit a few years back, The transmitter was scratched from a 1:35 German 3.5cm ammo container and the RC style prop from some scrap photo etch fret. Hope you like it and apologies for the awful quality of the pics!
  20. Look out for the undercarriage!!!!!!!!!!! Glued mine together left it for ages then put it on it's own feet and when I came back in the morning all the wheels had gone from I I to / \ then I lifted it and 4 of them fell off. I think the weight in the nose was the problem so I would use something stronger to mount the wheels such as adding a metal axle? Because once you cut the doors in half they don't really work if you have to mount them closed.
  21. That is one expensive 18 months! All of them look outstanding, nice one
  22. I Would highly recommend painting the undersides of the wings inboard of the two middle engines before adding the wing to the fuselage as it is almost impossible to reach afterwards! Don't ask how I know this.
  23. It's one of my 3 favourite racing cars of all time. I remember seeing them at Knockhill and the local Volvo dealers had a road car with the decals on it. I still want one now!
