  1. I nearly always brush paint as spraying is almost never practical where i live. I don't prime but do thin slightly and use a tamiya basic flat brush. Works very nicely on 72nd and smaller 48th aircraft especially if they are multi coloured like wwii subjects.
  2. That looks stunning, did you have any fit issues with the resin cockpit into the fuselage?
  3. Thanks again gents, I have a growing 72nd wwii collection and do prefer the three bladed prop............
  4. hmmmmmmmm Fancy the 32nd scale option but prefer the 3 blade look. May have to raid the spares box for a prop and spinner to suit. Many thanks for the help gents. I will keep you updated as and when I get on with it.
  5. Did Buchons of the period only have the 4 blade prop? Cant seem to find and historical pictures of a 3 bladed one so was that a later modification?
  6. Just found the donor kit in the stash now I need to look behind the couch for the cash.
  7. Thanks for the heads up. Not done any real conversions before, is it quite friendly to work with?
  8. What is the best / easiest way to create a Buchon as seen in the Battle of Britain film? I know of the Academy kit but can't find any for sale.
  9. Just about finished mine after just 3 sessions. Went together really easily and I preferred it to the 110 panel. But only just.
  10. Surely the amount of hull below the water is fairly marginal and would prevent you seeing water/mdf inside the fuselage?
  11. If I may add my own question......... What is the purpose of the cream coloured canopy strip? I assume internally it helps seal the gap between the dividing screen and the canopy but why is it external as well?
  12. i find the easiest way to do the creamy colour line n the canopy is to paint the edge of the internal clear piece and allow it to dry before putting the canopy over the top.
  13. Thanks Hawkkeeper. I love the display schemes on the hawks and markmarples thread is awesome but just felt this one didn't look right in the flesh and needed the extra camo.
  14. I built the hurricane a while back.............
  15. Thanks for the reply Niall, time to get sanding I guess.
  16. Also.................. Are the instructions correct in that the painting guide shows large areas of the deck to be grey instead of wood and if so are these painted metal? Sorry if this is daft but have the wooden decks to attach and wondering if only the 'planked areas are actually needed or will it save removing the molded planks.
  17. Just started mine last night and have a large gap 'bout midships on the forward half keel? Anyhoo looking forward to seeing how your build comes along.
  18. Thank you General Sahr! Another quality BM reply.
  19. Lovely build of an hideously aircraft. I wonder if it 'flew right'.
  20. I enjoyed mine so much I just got the Bf109 panel from Hannants. Yours is looking excellent so far, it's always nice to change subject once in a while.
  21. Buy it!!!!!!!!! No issues with mine at all. The white decals are superb too.
  22. Would guess at Xtracrylics or Xtracolour?
