Thats beutifull. Well done that man. -
Not built either 79 but can highly recommend the Ebbro 72s. Just lacking the ciggy logos of course.

Firstly a disclaimer, these are not my pics but ones i saw on google +. What about that Lightning!!!!!!!!

Still, if you want to depict a very unusual shooting down of a friendly aircraft, you could build a model of the F-11 TIger that managed to shot itself down during a gun firing exercise.... You can't just leave it like this!

Working my way through the excellent Ebbro kit but I am in need of a suitable dull, semi matt gold paint for the wheels, preferably brushable. Does anyone know of a decent match for the kit decals? I figure Zero or some such do an exact match but looking for a more readily available option?

This brings back memories! Remember the decals being surprisingly good.

Looks very similar to the Sword 72nd PR IV Tropical kit. Should be able to give you some idea of tone as it has both the PRU and Royal blues.

Spitfire's always look so odd in strange colours, almost, almost ugly. -
In Scotland it's quite common as it keeps the chippy wrappers oot.

A very nicely built model and I enjoyed the wip but man its UGLY!

Thanks chaps, Imam waiting to hear from the customer if he is happy for me to start sanding before i start but i will keep you updated.

I have been tasked with trying to repair some minor damage to a resin? Concorde model. It appears to be a 72nd scale model of the type seen in travel agents etc. The wing has had some knocks and the tip has become detached and the coating has cracked length-ways (see pic). Does anybody know how these models are finished? Is it some form of gelcoat applied in the molding process or is it a paint job. I am looking for some basic decals (see thread in WANTED) in case I can repair the damaged area but have to respray it so that there are no color discrepancies. Does this look like it can be sanded and filled? The damage is not visible on the undersurface.

Just finished doing exactly this! Only thing I needed to source was decals but roundels came from spares. You can make a surprisingly good tail skid by simply removing the wheel/tyre from the kits tailwheel. I did cheat slightly with the exhausts and filled the gap before using a fine marker to present the outlets. Also the wheel covers on the doors were modified from the parts for representing raised landing gear..

Thanks gents, I ended up using the decals I mentioned above which provided the white outline for the fuselage but not the tail but in 72 it would be neigh invisible anyways. Pics to follow.

Thanks Yankee, your earlier thread went some way to inspiring me to do a Buchon. How did you do the 'Hienkels'?

Good question, cockpit is too big, I have to cut it in lower part to fit together with the wheel bays. Thanks a lot for your feedback! Thanks for the reply, have this in my stash and i'm afraid of it!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
What size would the lettering have been on both the fin and fuselage? Almost finished converting an Airfix mk1 and have a loan of the model decal sheets of pre-war codes but not sure which to use?
