  1. Erm bit of a change of plans..... Much as I liked the aftermarket options the cost of wine bottle lead foil was just too appealing. Oh and I didn't want to wait!
  2. Thanks for the info bobski but it was only the seat I was looking at not the whole set as I am happy with the standard pit once painted and dry brushed, but the seat is just too bare for a £25 kit for me.
  3. Evenin' all, I've been looking at either the Pavla Productions or Airies seat for the above but may just stick the Pavla pilot on the original bang seat instead. Any thoughts on which is best? The Airies effort comes with a PE fret for the belts but I hear tell that their stuff often has fit issues and the pit is well and truly stuck in the forward fuse so thinning it down maybe tricky and besides, its already painted! http://www.modelsforsale.com/catalog/produ...ducts_id=411140 Pavla Productions Seat http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/AIRE4419 Airies Seat http://www.hannants.co.uk/product/PJ481115 Pavla Products Pilot If anyone has experience with any of these feel free to chip in.
  4. Nice to see you restarting this build, reminds me that me dad still has my copy of Phoenix Squadron. Hope you get a little further this time.
  5. Thanks for the info Mark, I risked the wrath of her indoors and swipped a washing up sponge and did roughly the same. Jump Jet's coming on nice, sorry to hear about the decals tho.
  6. Any chance of a piccy when you figure out the intakes? Have nearly reached this stage myself and am new to spray bombing/masking! Great build so far, makes me think about starting mine all over again from scratch.
  7. Just bought the hase boxing so please keep going! Also want to see what you make of the pavla seat (I had looked at the airies seat?) and how it looks with a pilot in the pit. So KEEP GOING!!!!!!!!!
  8. HMS Magnificent? Please say yes as i'm the 3rd gen of my family to tackle this one. And i'm stuck.
  9. Here are some more links.... http://www.ece.cmu.edu/~koopman/airplanes/index.html http://www.paperaircrafts.com/ http://www.marcle.co.uk/cataloguehome.html Enjoy
  10. A mixture of both I figured, a little of the snow pastel in the same pack adds a nice touch. The only thing to look for is to ensure you get a really matt finish or it looks naff.
  11. I use humbrol matt 70 as a base then tamiya smoke on all but the most forward exhaust pipe then rust and soot pastels. Am I right in assuming that the first one is the cleanest as it gets no soot?
  12. I was in wonderland too but got the impression that only half were spoken for, got a wee peek in the box and I have never wanted £100 more in my life! Little magnets to hold the cowling's on is genius!
  13. Yes I have but the model has undergone many versions and I have no way of telling which I have!
  14. Sorry, it's a 1903 ish battleship http://www.deansmarine.co.uk/shop/product_...01613c794fd9f57 Thanks obi, I shall head there presently.
  15. After many years of building injection moulded planes and cars I inherited this project after my dad gave up on it. However, the blueprints are a mystery to me and the photocopied instructions are so bad the pictures are next to useless. If anyone could tell me where to find any more than the usual 2 distant images which I have and i believe are from the Deans Marine website.
  16. Have you been here? Think its US but still........... http://www.72scale.com/aircraft/role/gaUSA.htm
