  1. If this is ‘the’ Trumpeter, they appear to have an American outlet store. ADDRESS 2457 West Virginia Avenue Greenfield Ctr. NY, United States (US) 12833
  2. We have 15 F4Js Some are blue and some are grey, There is nothing with a Spey, That is anything like a J J J J…. Decent build. Decent. From an ex-Tiger’s perspective, you’ve nailed it.
  3. It’s decent as an aviation film. In achieving that, it doesn’t go in huge depth of the two original book’s core themes, one of which is the title, Devotion. The other theme could have been covered in more depth IMHO and informed opinion, but that’s the balance the film maker has to weigh up. I would highly recommend Adam Makos’s book.
  4. …or in other words, the title of the thread could read, Airfix 2024 ‘wish list’….
  5. F-4J(UK) was cleared for and did use the gun pod as used on the FGR.2. Harmonisation wasn’t the best, but it could be fitted and the crews went through annual armament practice camp at RAF Akrotiri to qualify and be re-validated.
  6. ZM did a decal sheet (F-4J (UK), Phantom II F-4J Marking Set SWS48-04-D01) which came out with the UK release of their F-4J. As has been mentioned, a few mods would be required to make the kit as an F-4J(UK). As for the blue/grey/green, I’ve phound that FS35414 is a very good match.
  7. Great build. A bit late I know, but the National Archives may be the best place to start for your Uncle’s Service Records. https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/help-with-your-research/research-guides/royal-air-force-personnel/
  8. My ‘Pusher’ has advised that the first 40 have arrived and my pre-order is on the way. 😃
  9. You may have heard of off the cuff though, which is where it originates from. Good effort on the model BTW, cuffing it is fine.
  10. Both canopies are twins; correct. Take a look at Sprue G; one canopy frame is moulded for closure, the other moulded to be open and I’m guessing, easily switchable. #moretamiyageniusness
  11. As has been pointed out elsewhere, the 92 Sqn checks are the wrong colour. I hope that Airfix rectifies that as it otherwise means they are only providing one option out of the box.
  12. The leap from comments on the actual new release to a beauty pageant panel does make me chuckle. Tamiya will be looking to produce the best F-35A out there and from what I can see in the pictures, appear to have nailed it. The only things that matter about the model, IMHO will be accuracy and buildability. Anything else, including cost dare I say, should be subject to wide-band noise jamming. Looking forward to getting one to firm up my own personal view on the model.
  13. If you look at the box behind the kit I think you’ll find that this is the Italeri kit….
  14. To add to this (if that’s possible with the authority that is Nick), just because you could, doesn’t mean you would or should. Any Harrier without wing tanks would be operating without much in the way of a margin to get there and back… in the South Atlantic….and with no diversion airfields… If things had got desperate, the risks would have likely been considered I’m sure. But it never got desperate. That is all.
  15. This post could be considered a spoiler. Having watched the film last night, I wouldn’t class it as one for fans of the Mosquito (average CGI, basically). It’s not even for any fan of RAF aircraft or it’s role in WWII, but does show how a small event in the big scheme of things has a massive impact on an outcome and is a very sobering reflection on the civilian costs of war, which is made particularly poignant when watching at this current time. That is all.
  16. According to IMDB, this film is otherwise known as ‘The Shadow in my Eye’; release on Netflix outside of Denmark is on 9th March. That is all.
  17. Thanks Both Thanks also. Everything you see is in the box. Thanks and good luck. Look out for the tail alignment if you’ve not gotten to that stage.
  18. For me it’s simple. If addressed to ‘Dear Customer’ and not naming me, it’s most likely a scam. Before binning, I forward to phishing@[insert company name].co.uk or .com and suggest that the investigate. That is all.
  19. Spot on. Used to go to work in Northants as we used to joke, the western end of the base.
