  1. I know where your coming from Matt, I built a Magna Models 1/72 Attacker a few years back, it was displayed on a shelf, out of direct sunlight and every couple of months I'd have to give the wings the hot water treatment to cure a severe case of "brewers droop" in the wings . I have to admit it put me right off resin as a medium for a complete aircraft, I do still buy resin conversion sets but I wont buy a complete kit now. Ant
  2. Try here Mike : HaHen Accessories Do a lovely set of engines
  3. And before you know it you've got more kits stashed than you'll ever have time to build, you spend so much time looking at other people's models on wondersites like Britmodeller and you realise you haven't actually glued any plastic in months Now why does that sound so familiar.
  4. That really is a great looking model Karl, and as Phil said, it seems your a natural with the airbrush. Keep up the great work. Cheers Ant
  5. I'll go along with that, definitely a SkyShadow pod converted as a camera pod, easy, peasy, lemon squeezy.
  6. Hi Neil, Is that F-104 in 1/32 ? If so is it Hasegawa or Revell base kit ? Looks great whichever Cheers Ant
  7. Your right, I'm easily confused and the memory doesn't work properly this early on a Saturday morning. I couldn't remember if the J had been released with both raised and recessed lines, and IIRC Hasegawa confused the issue further by using the same artwork on a limited re-release of the newer recessed line kit, but it was in one of the new style boxes with the white surround so it should be easy to tell apart.
  8. All of the Hasegawa British Phantoms have recessed panel lines. IIRC it is only the F-4B/N and F-4C/D boxings that were originally made as raised panel line kits. The original RN marked FG.1 kit can be difficult to find and is usually pretty darned expensive, look for the RAF version of the FG.1, with the 43 Sqdn aircraft on the boxtop, and if you want RN markings both Aeromaster and Model Alliance have released sets.
  9. Hi Flipflopman, Thanks for the info, maybe it was the trials of the TRD with the F.3 that I read about. I can't for the life of me remember where I saw it, but I'm sure there was pics of the F.3 with the outer wing pylons fitted. Cheers Ant
  10. I'm sure I read that somewhere too Drewe, but I also seem to remember that F.3 Tornados were also going to start to carry the BOZ pod with the TRD, so maybe I'm getting confused.
  11. Looking really good Clive , did my stuff turn up ? And was it you that bagged the GR.1, I put you onto last night ? Cant wait to see some more. Cheers Ant
  12. I was on Rob's mailing list Bill, thankfully I didn't put any money down, I was reluctant too after hearing about the Aerodynamix saga, its a pity it went tits up as the pics he put up on LSP looked really promising. BTW I had a communication awhile back from David Parkins concerning the Flightpath set, he told me they still hope to do it but its way down the line and not even on the backburner yet. I have a similar project in mind Bill, even got some F.3 decals from Flightpath, will be some time before I get any where near this one though. Cheers Ant
  13. Hi Gary, It is worth going to the various Ebay sites as they all seem to use diferent listing parameters, for instance Ebay.com doesn't use a scale search so if you do a worldwide search by scale on Ebay.co.uk you don't necessarily pick up everything. I also look at other Ebay sites like Ebay.de (especially good for OOP Revell Germany kits), Ebay.fr and Ebay.nl too. Try it you'll be surprised what you can find. Cheers Ant
  14. I borrowed a copy of "Vulcan 607" to read on my recent holiday, its well written and conveys the drama of the mission brilliantly, I knew something about the logistics of the mission , but didn't realise just how close to failure it came not just once but several times. I've read Shark Wards book several years ago, and he doesn't so much have a chip on his shoulder, more like a 56lb bag of spuds.
  15. The Revell 1/32 Tornado ADV kit is actually an F.2 version, it is crap compared to the later mould IDS/GR.1/ECR kit, I've got one of these kits and have a "grand plan" to cross kit it with the later mould to try and get a passable F.3 model . Unfortunately the fuselage is broken down in a totally different way to the later kit, Revell must have realised their early kit was a piece of crap and started from scratch. Interestingly the later mould Revell kit is almost designed that an F.3 could be released, as all of the IDS specific parts i.e. forward fuselage and extreme rear fuselage/afterburner section are moulded as seperate parts, the only area that would be difficult to achieve is the wing glove area as the F.3 has a sharper angle here than the IDS. Noew if Revell could do a new forward fuselage with recessed missile troughs and an extended afterburner section, we'd be 80% of the way there and I'm sure the could do a couple of scab on parts to extend the wing glove. Go on Revell you know you want to
  16. Looks great, I have a few of these in the stash, and IIRC I've already assembled the fuselage of one of them, seeing your build is making me want to dig it out and make a move towards finishing it.
  17. Great build of a good kit I particularly like the paint finish, nicely done nothing too overstated. Whats up next ???
  18. The tracks dont look too bad, the type of suspension used in the Crusader meant that the track was loose and the track ran along the top of the road wheels hence no need for return rollers. Looks great by the way
  19. I can vouch for the Fairy Power Spray, I had a similar disaster on my Tamiya Jaguar XJR-9, stripped off the TS-16 White and the Tamiya Spray Primer, right back to bare plastic
  20. Yeah, got my Scandinavian Martins mixed up You bloody Scandinavians all sound the same to me, what makes it worse is it was a conversation from the other place Cheers Ant
  21. Since when as it been an EADS Typhoon, there's still some British content you know , although I wouldn't be surprised if BAE Systems jumps ship at some point like they did with Airbus. Only jesting Martin Cheers Ant
  22. To try and be a little helpful , the Revell Germany RSAF issue was the Monogram kit, I built one years ago when I got back into the hobby, way better than the Italeri kit.
  23. Can't help with the nosecone sorry, but you could post the pics anyway just to keep this sad bloke happy :whistling:
  24. The Vulcan is the 20mm cannon fitted to virtually every post 1960ish American fighter, however the Warthog has the 30 mm Avenger cannon. Can you post us some pics ?
