  1. Based on the parts on the sprue that aren't used in this release, I'm pretty certain that we're going to see an RAF HAR.3 and possibly a RN HC.4 at some point. as to whether we'll see an AEW.2 or ASAC.7 I'm not so sure, but there are already a few aftermarket resin sets out there for the radome at least, of course the interior is another matter altogether., And as Greg points out I'm sure Hannants will have some good contacts at Hornby.
  2. Yes indeed, Hannants have announced another 2 sheets containing markings for non-UK users, no artwork as yet, but contents are below: Westland Sea King Collection Pt5 (6) Westland Sea King Mk.50 N16-125, '10' of 817 Naval Air Squadron, Royal Australian Navy, 1977. 3. I just preordered 1 and with my Club discount and cashing in some Hobby Rewards points I'm getting it at just over £38. Who's a happy boy 😎
  4. Pretty sure mine was pre-ordered on 10th January (along with the Gannet) so could be chronological.
  5. My preorder kit just got delivered, and yes it does include the commemorative coin, it's marked 331/500 so looks like they won't be available for long (of course they may not be putting them in chronologically and it's just a random number).
  6. Sad news indeed, I'm another that only knew Kev through his builds here, but they demonstrated some great techniques and were inspirational in many ways. My condolences go to his family and friends.
  7. Yes the Workbench blog also says "new parts" but it's definitely misleading as the sprues are identical this release simply uses the alternative parts not used in the F.3 instructions. I was hoping for a set of underwing rockets or bombs, but as there were no blind holes in the original kit wings, I guessed I'd be disappointed.
  8. Strangely this one doesn't seem to appear on any of the published listings that I've seen, I wonder if it's initially going to be released as part of a diorama combo with the Lancaster as that seems to be one of Tamiya's new themes of a dual combo aircraft and complementary vehicle.
  9. Good news indeed, I have previously bought Speed Hunter decals from Victory Productions as they offered UK shipping and the service was great, Prior to Brexit I regularly ordered from Sprue Bros, but they no longer offer UK shipping either.
  10. Croeso Richard, from another Welshy, there's a few of us here.
  11. Myself and the better half have watched a few episodes on iPlayer, it is just that liitle bit different and yes it is difficult to describe without giving too much away. We've also just discovered Catastrophe on Netflix (very late to the game as there's already 4 series on there) it's another quirky comedy that's gone down a treat with us.
  12. Lovely build and a fine tribute indeed to Flt. Lt Ramsay.
  13. great to see a new member, and even more so one who's a relatively new modeller, lots of great advice to be had here, and some great banter as well.
  14. Beautiful Sabre Dog, the Revellogram kit is a really good kit and you've done a fantastic build 👍
  15. Lovely build & finish Jon, and so unusual to see a Phantom with nothing under the wings, love it.
  16. It's the Collins Aerospace ACES-5 seat.
  17. Lovely build and a fantastic finish, one to be proud of
  18. Lovely builds but I think I neec new specs, cos those Tremblers markings sure do look like 74 Squadron Tiger Stripes 😉. But seriously lovely finish on all 3 👍
  19. Hi FB, i have been trawling through my references and came across a set of conversion drawings that appered in a Japanese publication called Tamiya News, they have been posted on the web a few times but it's easier to send a link to another forum rather than posting them here again: https://forum.f1m.com/viewtopic.php?p=352794&hilit=Tamiya+News+Conversion#p352794 I've also found a sheet of detailed race by race changes made to the FW-07 in 1980, I'll scan it and PM a copy to you.
  20. I've got this in the library Let me know if there's anything you need, I'll check to see if there are any worthwhile pics.
  21. Don't forget the side pods changed during 1980, for the first 4 'fly away' races the cars retained the original slab sides with a kick up just in front of the rear wheel (as moulded by Tamiya) but from Belgium onwards they changed to a more blended transition from vertical to horizontal surfaces, the Canada GP picture illustrates it exactly.
  22. Lovely build of a kit that is now getting somewhat long in the tooth, but is still the only option in 1/48. There are a few pics of the aircraft after they returned to the Ark here: https://laststandonzombieisland.com/2020/06/25/the-f-4-phantoms-of-the-colonial-navy/ Looking at the pic of 001, I would say it looks like they just obliterated the underwing serials rather than replacing them, but without a shot of the underside I guess it will remain a mystery. Neither Aeromaster or Model Alliance included any underwing details in the instructions for their decal sets.
  23. Looking good, when I was younger and building in 1/72, I always wanted to try this conversion, but I don't think I could cope with it now after building purely 1/48 for so long now.
