  3. I passed an Oshkosh Transporter with AS-90 pulled over on the eastbound hard shoulder of the M4 near Port Talbot last week, it must have been heading back to Larkhill or similar from Castlemartin.
  4. Not that I'm aware of, but the ever intrepid @andrewa did a conversion build a few years ago:
  5. Fineline Decals did decal sets in 1/144 & 1/72 (the 1/72 sheet also included markings for their DC-6) I believe they're long out of production. As @Skodadriver suggested, might be worth dropping Ray at 26decals a line and ask if he still has the the artwork.
  6. Hi Rob, welcome from the Neath valley 👍
  7. If past releases are anything to go by, then the Limited Edition coin will be in the first 500 kits sold and doesn't add to the price, the standard Vulcan kit is now back @ £72.49 (in the Airfix online store), the reduced price was just a temporary offer (probably to shift excess stock prior to the Black Buck release), looking around non-Airfix outlets it is still available at the lower price, so if you want one cheap then you probably need to act now.
  8. As others have said, cock ups happen, and although this error is not unique to Airfix, as others have misinterpreted the same photo and whilst die hard Vulcan fans might know this, I suspect the Airfix researcher didn't. That said it's hardly a life or death situation, and if you think it is then you need to step away from the bench and those glue vapours and take your self for a breath of fresh air.
  9. I always liked the look of the Super Mystere, and the old Airfix kits was one of my favourite builds from my younger days, it always seemed to have a "Gallic dash" compared to other similar jets of the late 50's and 60's. I'm sure this would look pretty good next to an F-100 and EE Lightning, shame they didn't include the drop tanks and missiles a la boxart, otherwise a great looking kit.
  10. "Nice Beaver" indeed (you can never have too much of Frank Drebin). It is a lovely build and finish. I remember building one of these, what must be 40 years ago now, always thought it one of Airfix's best at the time, I might just have to pick up another just for nostalgia's sake.
  11. I wouldn't be surprised if we see both an Export (Australia, Germany, Indonesia) boxing and also a COD.4/T.5 boxing, the inclusion of underwing pylons make the COD.4 an almost certainty as they were rarely fitted otherwise. I'm really looking forward to this one.
  12. I've seen reports that the crew were able to extricate themselves,
  13. It looks like they've made the radome area as an insert, so hopefully there'll be an option for a blanking plate for COD versions, if not in the initial release maybe on a later one.
  14. Modelling Madness have a comrehensive list of all the Hasegawa British Phantoms including a list of the sprues included in each boxing with a key to what parts are on each sprue, it's a useful resource, link here: https://modelingmadness.com/splfeat/kr/has48d.htm Scroll down the page past the J79 Phantoms and the British Phantoms have their own section.
  15. Lovely job Rob, it put up a fight but you beat it, and a fine looking bird it is 👍
  16. Mine arrived at my office this morning, I had the shipping email last Saturday but after changing the delivery address (Airfix insist on leaving the company name off the label), I had a subsequent email confirming it would be delivered on Tuesday, it finally arrived here today, I guess the Bank Holiday has delayed things.
  17. Hi John, Another great build, you certainly are knocking them out! To my understanding, it is also to Airfix's credit, that on recent releases of the kit, they've corrected the road wheel number of nuts issue although I'm not sure that they've corrected anything else. Happy modelling Ant
  18. The Cosworth cam covers were used when the car carried Leyland logos, as understandably there was a potential clash of interests.
  19. Hi Einar, Airfix originally released the kit as a 727-100 in 1967 firstly with TWA markings and then later Lufthansa, in 1982/3 they irreversibly revised the fuselage mould to that of a 727-200, releasing it with Iberia markings and subsequently reissued it with Pan-Am & Lufthansa markings, and then more recently Iberia & Aerolineas Argentina markings and then once again with Air Canada & Alitalia markings. Your build is excellent, hope to see some more of your models. I always liked the Iberia scheme, I did an Airfix DC-9-30 in those colours many years ago.
  20. I seem to remember the kit was originally announced by Annetra as their own design and that it was to be moulded for them by AMK, then it all went quiet and the kit eventually appeared a few years later in what appears to be an AMK style box but with credit to Annetra.
