  1. The decals will be announced on the fb-site when they are ready. Nils
  2. New decals are at the print shop right now. Note that the "white" in the roundels and fin marking is not pure white, but actually a light yellow. Nils
  3. Not in the Mk.IV though, as it was not equipped to carry passenger. Both Niels Bohrs (father and son) were flown from Stockholm to Scotland in Mosquito Mk.VIs. I have registrations, pilots, times etc. somewhere... Nils (not Bohr)
  4. If I have been informed correctly, some of Kits World's latest decals are printed by Boa. These are very thin and nice decals (I use Boa myself for Vingtor Decals). The correctness of the artwork is not up to the printshop though. Nils
  5. The drag chute housing makes an interesting difference. However aircraft # 5146 is operated at Luke AFB in Arizona and is not fitted with this item. No icy runways there... Nils
  6. Black is not difficult to match. As written, the plates have to be prepainted by the modeller. Nils
  7. Most difficult would be the 1" silver outline for the letters.
  8. Sounds interesting... 🙂 Not the most commonly surplus decals, and not the easiest decals to paint. I know, because I have done it myself in 1/48 scale, long time ago. Nils
  9. Great! 🙂 They were not operated between England and Sweden, but between Scotland and Sweden. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 One ting, though. The single BOAC Mosquito Mk.IV did not carry passenger in the bomb bay. Because the doors were single items, left and right. Passengers were carried in Mk.VI aircraft. These had split doors, meaning that the forward pair, where the passenger was "seated", could be closed, while access was made possible through the rear set of doors. Nils PS. The full history of the BOAC Mosquitos (including scale drawings) is available in my book "The Stockholm Run".
  10. PRU Blue is a mystic colour. I have for a long time wondered about the underside colour on the Norwegian Vampire FB.52s. It has been said that the colour should be PRU Blue. But on photos, and even in real life (there is a preserved aircraft in the Norwegian Air Force Museum in Bodø), it does not look like PRU Blue. It looks much too light. As the aircraft is hanging from the ceiling, it has not been possible to actually check the colour. Until earlier this year when I got the opportunity to get up close using a lift. Checking the colour with my BS 381C colour book, I could verify that the colour indeed was spot on 636 PRU Blue. But it certainly does not look like that from a distance... Nils
  11. Same for me. Maybe some aftermarket manufacturer will come to the rescue? Nils
  12. Thanks. I also got them directly from Carl. Nils
  13. Thanks, all First I must correct myself. The reference was not in a book, but in an article on the Toronto Flying Club in the journal of the Norwegian Aviation Historical Society back in 1983. Apparently the reference is wrong. However the reference list also include an article titled "Spirit of Little Norway" by F. J. Hatch in High Flight magazine Vol.1 No.5. I am very interested in a copy, and will send my email address in a PM. I am currently writing a book on the colours and markings on the aircraft used by the Norwegian Training Camp in Canada, thus my interest. I had certainly not expected to reach back to the author of the referenced articles. Not knowing the references articles I am just curios to know what they describe. Anything about the Toronto Flying Club's involvement with the Norwegian Training Camp would be of interest. Especially anything that describes colours and markings of the aircraft. Nils
  14. In a book on the Norwegian Flying School in Canada during WW2, there is a reference to a series of articles by Carl Vincent, in the above-mentioned magazines. Does anybody have these issues, and can tell me what the articles are about? Nils
  15. The aircraft was painted with Bengalac paint. The colours were most likely: Blue: 1223 Funkisblå (~ FS 25102) Yellow: 1365 Kromgul ( ~ FS 13415) I do not know which model paint would be the best match. Nils
  16. Back to the F-35A. If you are not in a hurry, you should consider waiting for the Tamiya kit which is announced to be released later this year. Their 1/48 F-35A is possibly the best model kit I have ever seen. Nils
  17. The best looking F-16 in my eyes. I made a model some years ago, based on the Hasegawa 1/48 F-16B. 🙂 Nils
  18. Thanks for your offer. However, as Luftwaffe is not among my main interests, this is something I can live without. I was afraid I would miss an article on Air Ministry directives.
  19. What is the Colour Conundrum subject for the February 2023 issue? My subscription issue has apparently been lost in the post. The publisher has run out of copies, and I have been offered a digital copy. But then I have to open a Magzter account and give them my credit card details - which I am not happy with.
  20. I am looking forward to these kits. BTW, the book is still available: https://www.europeanairlines.no/product/noorduyn-norseman-mk-iv-mk-vi/ 🙂
  21. Thanks! I also found this paint from Hiroboy: https://www.hiroboy.com/search?q=RAL+3024
  22. Depending on which time period the model will portray. The N-3PBs were painted in American colo(u)rs at the factory and flew in these for a time, also after 330 Squadron was established on Iceland. Eventually the aircraft were repainted in Extra Dark Sea Grey / Dark Slate Gray / Sky, which would be correct for late markings. Nils
  23. Does anybody know a good model paint for Fluorecent Red/Orange, more specific RAL 3024? This colour is used on the Norwegian AW101 rescue helicopters. The colour is slightly more reddish than the RAL 2005 used on the Sea Kings. Nils
