  1. I did the F-104G some years ago. There are still lots of these sheets around. As one shop sold them out cheaply, there are some local modellers who have "piles" of them, and might be willing to sell. Anyway, I see no big market for a reprint, unfortunately. Nils
  2. Well, if the Kinetic decals had been "good", I would not consider doing a Vingtor Decals set... 😉 The new sheet will not be available until May though. Nils
  3. If you get any information on the kit, please distribute. It might be of interest to other modellers. I am not willing to spend £40 on a conversion without seeing the content .
  4. Very interesting to see! I did the same conversion some years ago, including the interior. I made my own decals though.
  5. I didn't know there were different "standard" seats.
  6. Glad they arrived rather fast (10 days?) to the other side of the world. Hope you find the decals easy to work with. Nils
  7. I have acquired the new Airfix Sea King kit, without the decal sheet. This is not a problem as I have an aftermarket decal set that I will use. However, these decals are designed for the Hasegawa kit, and a few items need to be replaced ti fit the Airfix kit. I can print these myself, but first I have to draw them corectly on my computer. I thus wonder if somebody could scan (parts of) the Airfix decal sheet for me. It is only the items marked by red that are required. Nils
  8. You could try posting on the IPMS Stockholm Forum (https://www.ipmsstockholm.se/phpBB3/). Or you could try emailing some of the FLIT board members (https://www.flyglitteratur.se/kontakt.htm). FLIT is strongly connected to, but independent from SFF.
  9. As far as I know, SFF (as it is locally known) is very much up and running. I met several of their members during a conference last October. Have you tried their web site? https://flyghistoria.org/info-pa-andra-sprak/ Nils
  10. Thanks @Paul Lucas for your precise information.
  11. Norwegian F-35s are painted with Norwegian roundels when delivered from LM and test flown in the US. For the delivery flight across the Atlantic, the roundels are covered with stickers, dark grey on the fuselage/airintakes and same but with US star and bar on the wings. Could be similar for the British aircraft. Nils
  12. In the standard position on the fin base. Better visible here: And on another aircraft. Both photos from early 1946. Nils
  13. The photo is taken shortly after delivery to Norway, and are having the British roundels replaced with Norwegian insignia. That is what we see in the foreground, the new marking being measured up. Nils
  14. I think the same. But what about the lower sides of the fuselage/hull. Lanolin? Nils
  15. According to some sources, the upper side camouflage colours for flying boats (Sunderland, Catalina) changed from Extra Dark Sea Grey to Medium Sea Grey in 1947. There are however photos of 333 Sqn. Catalinas taken early 1946, showing rather faded light grey upper wing colour. These photos apparently also show black serial numbers, which also should not came to effect before 1947. Can anybody help with information on this? Nils
  16. Still, they have ground equipment on display... 😉
  17. Looking forward to see this build. To make the model more "special", you could have one fuel tank with aluminium underside and one with blue... Nils
  18. I have built many F-16s during the years. These are the ones that still remain in my display cabinet. Starting with the first prototype in 1/72 scale. Based on the Hasegawa YF-16. Upgraded with a modified resin cockpit, jet nozzle, jet intake and trunk and wheel wells. The canopy is from the Hasegawa F-16A, slightly modified. Vingtor Decals. Also including the "looser" - the Northrop YF-17 Cobra. Also 1/72 scale. I built this some 25-30 years ago. The model is based on the ESCI kit, heavily modified. Finished as an F-18L demonstrator. Custom made decals. Next is an 1/48 F-16AM of the Norwegian Air Force. Based on the Hasegawa F-16A with various modifications. Vingtor Decals. Finally the F-16/79. Also this 1/48 scale, built from the Hasegawa F-16B. Vingtor Decals. More F-16 models to build in the years to come... 😊 Nils
  19. Nice model. Not the easiest among kits. I have one started, but not finished... I am not sure that the slat attachment arms were red, though. Nils
  20. Very nice model. It is 1/48 scale, I assume. Nils
  21. Thanks for all the comments. Please bring on more. Never mind the decals though, as I will make my own. Nils
  22. Just wondering. Which kits of the T-Bird are regarded as the "best". 1/72 and 1/48 scales. Nils
  23. Looking at photos of XV762 and other first generation Harriers in winter camouflage, they were all roughly brush painted in white distemper. So so masking and airbrushing white would not look correct. Simply hand brushing with white paint would give the best result. Apart from the front section of XV762's starboard fuel tank, it seems that all external fuel tanks from the 1975 deployment were left unpainted with distemper. I.e. not white as on the Airfix drawings. Nils
