  1. See this link for a thread where the guy received the kit and is doing a mock-up of the major kit parts and maybe an in-box review http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=67591 -Scott
  2. Hi Ian, I'm getting ready to start up on a big Tamiya Viper ......Block 50 kit .....building a Block 40 from Hill AFB ....Black Widows OIF bird. Of course the Tamiya kit is gorgeous ...... does not need much in the way of upgrades, though there is stuff out there. I have a couple of the Academy kits .....both the single seat and the SUFA kit ..... the knock on those being that the intake is not "right" in the way that it matches up under the forward fuselage. Zacto Models make a replacement if you are looking for a small mouth intake that corrects the issue. Not sure if he will eventually release a large mouth intake correction. The Academy kit seems to build up into a great rendition of the Viper though for me personally, I would take the Tamiya for a single set build and the Academy with the intake correction for a dual seat build. I also hear that the Aires wheel bay set fits the Academy kit nicely, while their Tamiya version has fit issues that you will have to deal with if you want to use it. -Scott
  3. Nice work Dave ! I just received 3 sets of the Furball photo-etched stiffening plates ....very nice ......you build them up in thin layers ....should look great. I am working on one of these kits myself ..... hope to be laying down paint in another 3-4 days .....going with Afterburner Decals markings for VF-103 'Sluggers' using the Block 125 update from Steel Beach Looking forward to your finished kit ! -Scott
  4. Xtradecal 48-56 has a 31 Sqn from 2005 in the all over Medium Sea Gray color scheme whereas the Model Alliance sheet 48104 sheet has a 31 Sqn jet from 2003 in the Dark Gray Camo / Dark Sea Gray scheme Good Luck Scott

  6. Hi All, Been on the forums observing for a while and finally have something to post about and had a couple of questions that if you all may be able to help me out on I would certainly appreciate it. I just picked up the Trumpy Harrier GR.7 from Squadron for 1/2 off the normal price and the Zotz decals so I can do ZD437 'Michelle'. If I wanted to add one of the Aires cockpit sets, which one would get me closest to a GR.7 configuration ? The AV-8B or the Night Attack AV-8B ? Any idea on what seat would get me close to the correct one for the GR.7 ? It's a MB Mk 12H from what I have found but apparently none produced in 1/32 ...... is there another jet that has a similar one that would be a decent starting point for modification ? Of course, if Aires were to produce a cockpit at some point ............. Thanks ! Scott RAF Lakenheath '82-'84 RAF Upper Heyford '89-'93
