  1. Very, very good. Can't really add to what everyone else has said!
  2. I'm surprised that no one has commented on this. Very interesting subject well executed I think. I'm particularly interested in seeing this as I have just got a very good book on foreign aircraft in Luftwaffe service. Lots of really interesting subject for unusual models! Well done!
  3. Hi all, A few pic of my latest OOB builds. I don't normally build modern(ish) jets but bought both of these on a whim at club meets. The Tamiya Meteor is finished in the prototype colours although I'm not sure that the yellow is the correct shade! The Trumpeter F9F Panther is a pretty good kit and, I think, a lovely looking aircraft. The decoration on the nose was a decal which just didn't fit so I hand painted it. I'm afraid my hand wasn't too steady when it came to the white outline! I didn't want to spend too much time on either of them as I hadn't managed to finish anything for some time! Just realised I forgot the bombs!
  4. Looks great in that clour scheme - well done!
  5. Agree with everyone - beautiful finish and what a stunning looking a/c!
  6. Beautiful job! Like the studio too! I've been looking for a way to photograph my models better than I have and this looks like a great solution. Are the lamps 500w halogens? Dave
  7. Yes, agree with everything said. Who's paint did you use? Dave
  8. Is this the end of stretch sprue then Dick?? Nice build! Dave
  9. As per my last post here are a few more! Still experimenting with the photography, so some varied results! Some of the pics could be a bit brighter (and better cropped!) but I hope you enjoy them. This is a 1/32 Hasegawa Fieseler Fi156 Storch: 1/48 Trumpeter Seahawk. Lots of these on BM lately but a really good kit of a beautiful aircraft! The Eurocopter was a fun thing for a theme night at the club. 1/32 scale Revell kit. 1/32 Hasegawa Me109G-10: 1/32 Revell Me109G-2: Finally, one that I could do better! This is the 1/48 Monogram F100 which I made years ago but have always been really fond of. Looking back at it now I see that the weathering is overdone, the painting could be much better - but it's such a great scheme! I found an old French decal sheet for this that had the correct colours (they said!). Apparently, although it looks like the standard USAF SEA scheme, the colours are not the same as the US ones. I believe that the French use a brand of paint called Celomer and I guess these colours were the closest match to the US ones. These are Humbrol enamel colours which supposedly are a very close match to the French originals. Perhaps I'll do it again along wirh a matching Mirage III! These Monogram kits still look good I think and I intend making up some more that I have in the stash.
  10. Nice! I assume 1/48? Is the Crusader a Monogram kit too? Dave
  11. Hi, Thanks for asking! Here are a couple more. I took these some time ago & am still experimenting with the photography so hope to improve!
  12. Hi all, Thanks again for all then positive comments! I intend putting a few more up today which I hope you will find interesting! In answer to MeatBox8's question about Japanese paint I'm not sure I know the answer - apart from the fact thgat the operating environment was pretty bad for all sides (look at Corsairs & Spitfire that operated in the Pacific)! I've just Googled the question & come up with this (haven't yet read it myself but looks interesting): http://www.j-aircraft.com/research/weathering_question.htm A brief look at the conclusion indicates that we perhaps shouldn't be weathering Japanese aircraft as much as we do! However, you can't argue with the photographic evidence that certainly shows extreme weathering in some cases! Anyway, it's just a model! Dave
  13. Beautiful finish & stunning pics! What's your setup for taking the photos? I've always done mine in natural light but need to get some proper lighting I think. Your pics look really good - what do you use? Dave
  14. Hi All, I've been meaning to post some pics for months now but, since I tend to take them in natural light (and the dry), the weather has meant that this has been difficult to say the least! I must get around to getting some decent lighting!! Anyway, I've been slowly working through kits I started months & months ago but never seemed to get around to finishing. These represent some that I have managed to get done and our club has been to a few shows of late so this has spurred me on to putting these few up. I was going to put more until I logged on today and saw Arkady's Jaguar!! Talk about off-putting!! Seriously, he just sets the bar so high that all us mere mortals can do is our best to try & keep up !! The Frank is the 1/32 Hasegawa kit with an Eduard cockpit set (only really used the instrument panel which is stunning) and the first Spit is the Hobby Boss 1/32 Trop. This has some accuracy issues I believe but makes up beautifully and look the part as far as I am concerned. The rest are 1/48 - mixture odd Hasegawa, Tamiya & Airfix - I'm sure you all know what they are! Hope you enjoy them - comments welcome!! Dave Here's the Hasegawa Frank: This is the Hobby Boss Spit Vb: Various 1/48:
  15. Excellent! Beautiful paint job & weathering. Really like the wing leading edges - difficult to pull off successfully in my opinion and you have got it just right. What did you use to mask the Alclad? Dave
