  1. They were asking £90 for set up charge so I am affraid that rules that out
  2. Nice sea scape what material did you use, I have tried Daz modelling clay which works a treat for my sea scapes
  3. My preference is dirty and weathered
  4. My type of scale, lovely build and a great paint finish to the model and diorama
  5. Does that mean it still has all the rivets
  6. Starting to cut and shape the windows and some of the various vents etc, which is a completley boring job, but if done right will look ok. Have found a Lionroar oval template that fits the windows so will use this near the end to make sure they are all the same size and shape. So far I have been very impressed with this kit.
  7. Surely you should of opened up the doors and detailed the interior
  8. Although Photoshop is a brilliant tool, I prefer to use Adobe Illustrator as my preference to making decals.
  9. Hi Where did you get the flexible blue 3M tape from, could you send me a link as I need some to rescribe some models, what is the width and length of the tape and how much did you pay Cheers Kev
  10. Very nice weathering effect, how did you achieve it as it looks very authentic
  11. Very nicely built kit and in 1/72, although may be a bit pricey though
  12. Who is this master modeller ?????
  13. Another idea that I would use for the effect on the L/H ECS duct is to cover the plastic in a thin layer of milliput and using a tool which has a knurled handle roll it over the milliput to get the desired effect.

    Some of my work

Is the bloke on the moped a Taliban informer....... I wonder????
  15. What some people do on ebay is get a friend to bid on an item they are selling to push the price up
  16. I used double sided tape and attached 3 pieces of sand paper on some MDF
  17. Just counted the windows on the Welshmodel, and they have left one window out from either side, they have 27 windows where it should be 28 as there is an extra window near the rear engine which is not shown on the kit, but is clearly shown 28 windows on my photos of the Continetal Airways plane. Anyway just to inform anyone else who has not seen it and has the kit
  18. Right, all I have to show so far is that I have cut the Vacform body out and sanded it level using the usual methods involved, this bit is very easy, I have also test fitted the resin wings onto the body which looks ok, but probably will play with the fit at a later date Next job which is very boring and time consuming is cutting out all the windows and the passenger door and small flap where the stairs come out plus other small vents.
  19. I think using baby wipes is a good idea, non perfumed ones that you can use to clean the models before painting
  20. You probably know that the Renown and Repulse were sister ships, I made the Repulse for my dad a couple of years ago as his cousin was on board when it was sunk by the Japanese. I really make aircraft as I find ships just to fiddly , are you going to make anymore ships.
  21. Very nice kit you have done there, I hate doing the rails and other etch parts thats why I only have done one ship H.M.S Repulse
  22. This is the Welshmodel DC-9-14 1/72 scale that I will be starting soon, and will depict the aircraft in Continental colours. The kit its self is a Vacform and resin model with just the body as Vacform which is crisply molded, the resin parts are nicely formed with bo pin holes and other imperfections, and looks very accurate compared to scaled drawings and measurements. I shall hopefully putting the progress as it happens, but with all models I make usually takes time, the first thing that will need doing is cutting out the body from the vacform sheet, then cutting out all the windows and other various vents. The completed model shall have the passenger door open with the stairs leading up to it.
  23. Yeap in 1/72, and he is also in the process of making the Viscount 800 1/72 I am trying to convince him to produce the Vanguard in 1/72
  24. Nice model, you don't often see these around, so you have done a marvelous job
