  1. Dear Mr. Song, Add these to the wish list and I will be a happy camper! - RF-8 Crusader - MIG-31 - F-106 and TF-106 - Blackburn Buccaneer - Hawker Harrier GR.3 - Hawker Sea Harrier FRS.1 - North American F-86A early Sabre - Saab Viggen - AMX So many models, so little time...
  2. One of the best Tonkas I've ever seen! Very Nice!
  3. Thunk!http://www.servimg.com/image_preview.php?i=307&u=11859572'> (The sound of my jaw hitting the floor!) Wow! Thanks for sharing!
  4. I totally agree with the above plan/suggestions, both in 1/72 and 1/48 with even some potential in 1/32! I would certainly lay down some hard earned money for these!
  5. Thanks for all the compliments! Here are more WIP photos of the beast:
  6. Thanks guys! Had a blast painting it! I made a cross-hatched 10 x 5 cm template out of strip styrene, sprayed several shades of RLM 76 light blue on different panels and used the template to spray the 75 grey-violet: 15 minutes to spray the pattern and voilà! My inspiration: Look at the fuselage diamond pattern! Also looked at He-177 painted for night ops for more inspiration and authenticity! My logic: Cross hatch 76 easily painted by the techs at squadron level by walking a plumb line to do the pattern over the 75... And as for the guns/engines/fins.... I agree with you, they must have planned limiters or something equivalent...
  7. Here's my only one for 2012 Revell's Arado E-555 1/72 paper project in what-if markings. Built Out of the box, lovely kit, fit is perfect! Had fun painting it! Hope you like it!
  8. I think I've put the finger on the fuselage/nose/canopy shape issue and would like to help: I agree with all that was said earlier and would like too add my 2 cents if I may... -The canopy looks too flat? yup -Fuselage curves off and have flat spots? Yes! -The belly looks a bit off which affects the belly guns' location? Check! Photos to compare: et Well, I have examined the instructions and photos ... And I think I have pinpointed the error that affects the whole thing: The fuselage is around 2 mm TOO wide! How do I come to this conclusion? I found the instrument panel unbalanced, with the middle panel too small... It's both sides that are too wide because the fuselage is too wide! Supporting Evidence: This affects the canopy, nose shape, the curvature of the fuselage viewed from the front, the four cannons on the belly etc ... My opinion is that by having the fuselage too wide by those 2 offending mm, the cad was adjusted accordingly incorporating that flaw and affected the whole design/look! Which confirms what Iain (32SIG) showed on the earlier post...Therefore you need to remove the offending width and adjust the curves accordingly ... not easy the way the body is divided ... And then the nose... And let's not talk about the canopy... And your proposed fix for the wings thrust line should be the way to go I think... It's just that the wings seem to high on the nacelles as viewed from the side which also affects the cross-section which seems too square This is not a criticism to bring the kit down, it's just for your info. And at the low price we are paying (comparing to what Z-M want's)for this superb kit I won't complain! I already have one, having a great time building it (haven't felt this about a kit since forever) and will be buying 2 or 3 more Revell kits and have one Z-M kit on pre-order!! To hel* with the shape errors! In my opinion they are minor and offset each-other! I will only correct the props, the belly guns, lower the thrust line and maybe compress the gear a little to show combat weight... And THAT is it! The bottom line for me is: It looks like a 219 and that's what's important! I love this kit!
  9. I think the GWH kit is the same kit released in Japan under the Pit-Road label that was talked about above... Again, see here: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10195496
  10. Very nice "crouze" ! Got this in 72 and 48th scale, just don't know which one but after seeing yours i'll go with Academy's! Thanks for posting those!
  11. MUST BUILD MY TAMIYA Storch http://www.avionslegendaires.net/Images/Gfi156.jpg In full d-day stripes with Sir Winston Churchill beside it! (Think I saw a pic somewhere, maybe in a Spitfire book?)
  12. Thunk! (that's the sound of my jaw hitting the floor...) Superb work! Very nice! I'm usually an airplane and armor guy, but this gives me the inspiration to go into trucks!
  13. Nice! :speak_cool: Now I gotta buy another Chinook! Keep them coming Guys! Thanks!
  14. Thanks gang! Links fixed! Anything with invasion style stripes was the original ideal but I thought to limit it to black and white or low vis... But since we're at it, anything in invasion style stripes, any color (as long as they have 5 stripes and or look like original WW2 invasion stripes!) This means anything Suez etc... -Hunter -SeaHawk -Wyvern Or a candycane Eagle! http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Air/M...9edd1ff448447ee Etc!!!! As for the Sabre, not to worry, I will modify an E kit to an A... windscreen pics and info I have plenty! (Thank god!) I am adding all your suggestions and links on the first post... Keep 'em comming! I'm going stripe crazy! Throw me in jail so I can wear a striped outfit! Thanks again!
  15. Hey Gang! I guess this is the best place to ask this question: I am starting a collection of modern aircraft with D-Day / Invasion Stripes mostly in 1/72. I need pictures of the real ones. (I.E. Sea King AEW.2A XV664 carried stripes, and Dragon is issuing a kit of an AEW) I started with this and the stripe bug bit me....Spitfire Rose: so I painted my 1/1 scale Honda Civic! (Yes I know, I'm crazy) Anything with invasion style stripes was the original ideal but I thought to limit it to black and white or low vis... But since we're at it: anything in invasion style stripes, any color (as long as they have 5 stripes and or look like original WW2 invasion stripes!) This means anything Suez etc... So's here's what I got till now: Those in blue are one I do not have, green the markings are available and red I have. 16. Oh wow! I love the scheme you put on it! I can't wait to get my hands on one! Can I borrow your scheme?
  17. You inspire me to finish mine! I hope it will look half as good as yours! Nice work!
  18. We're not worthy! Seriously though, very nice!
  19. Very well done Courtney ! Love the artistic license on the paint scheme! Let your imagination run wild! I hope you had as much fun building it as I had seeing it!! Keep up the good work!
  20. Yup the Earth will tremble, I have finished my first one this year! 1 day build, bought it thursday night and finished it friday, except for the guns that I glued on the next day at our club mini contest. http://www.ipmsrealcote.com/minimmm2011_08_13.htm Out of the box except for a hole drilled on the bottom to accept a different stand bthat is not provided with the kit (the kit one IMHO is crappy) A pleasure to build! Nice project to help getting the modeling juices flowing again! I give it 9/10 for accuracy compared to the box top, I find the canopy 6 mm too long, the wing intakes have a weird panel covering them partly and the leading edge extensions don't go all the way to the front...they stop 6mm short BUT I think the kit does match the studio 1/1 scale mock-up... Not an expert but it would be nice to have photos to compare... See the hole for the stand I made in the next shot Thanks for looking and all comments / criticism are appreciated!
  21. Stunning build! Simply inspiring! I have started mine and will never get it as good as yours!!!! You da man! I will probably have to get in touch with them since there is a bubble in the transparent portion of my canopy ans a large "bubble" (5mm like a pea) of missing material in the nose casting... The rest of the kit is top notch! AND your build has inspired me!
  22. Super neet! Love the lighting you did! Very insperational! I must admit I am tempted to do a dio now! Thanks for sharing!
