  1. Having just wrestled this kit into submission I can confirm that you have to remove a lot of material from the interior bulkheads and floor to get the fuselage halves to fit. It's like they were designed by two different teams! The rest of the kit isn't much better. I'm certainly glad it's done with and in future the Tamiya kit will be my mossie of choice! Chris
  2. Great collection! All beautifully built and painted Chris
  3. That's beautiful! Love the contrast between the red outlined insignia and the camouflage. Top job! Chris
  4. Great paint job, the weathering is spot on! Chris
  5. Great job, looks like you beat that kit into submission! The paintwork and weathering is spot on. Chris
  6. What a stunner!!! From the days when art and engineering overlapped Chris
  7. Thanks guys! Pics now added to the Completed Gallery cheers, Chris
  8. Revell Mosquito B.IV, No 627 Squadron RAF, 1945 WIP here: Pig of a kit that required lots of modification and extras but looks nice in the the end! Thanks for looking, Chris
  9. Good morning all! As part of the DH group build I decided to drag the Revell Mosquito out of its long, lonely storage and get it built! This was a mistake...the kit is a dog! Fit was poor and the canopy had to be thrown away due to a large mould flaw running through it. In addition, the wheels are too big, the gear legs too short and the spinners would look more at home on a Lancaster! Here is a full list of changes made: Gear legs extended and wheel guards added from stretched sprue Ultracast wheels Spinners reshaped Canopy replaced with a vacuform one plus lots of plasticard Decals by EagleCals VHF aerial from stretched sprue Nose window replaced with acetate The model was finished with Tamiya acrylics and Windor & Newton Galleria flat varnish. For more info, the build thread is here: Photographing the model was a challenge as the desert sun is rather warm! Bearing in mind the real Mosquito's tendancy to suffer glue failure and fall apart in hot climes I took these as quickly as I could and returned the model to it's air-conditioned home! Even so it is now being closely monitored for signs of the wings sagging! Anyway that's enough chat, here are the photos: Thanks for looking and hope you enjoyed looking at the finished result more than I enjoyed wrestling with it!!!! Chris
  10. Great job Tony! I've got this one to do in 1/48 so I'll be using yours as inspiration! Chris
  11. Both look great to me, as does your collection! Glad to see I'm not the only one running out of shelf space!!! Chris
  12. Thanks Ozzy! She's finally finished!!!! Fought me to the end as expected, today's flies in the ointment included replacing one of the (cracked) nose windows with clear acetate and adding the VHF aerial from stretched sprue. I'll take some better pics over the next few days, in the meantime I'm going to catch some relief from this pig of a kit!!!! Chris
  13. Beautiful build of a beautiful machine!!!! Chris
  14. Looking great so far! Oh how I wish I had built this kit instead of the Revell one!!!! Chris
  15. No worries! It certainly looks like an interesting piece of engineering! Cheers, Chris
  16. Great subject and great model! Saw the real deal at the NASM in Washington last year: Very nicely done! Chris
