No it's an old Academy FR. XIVe I had gethering dust in the loft, was silver 2 Squadron Wunsdorf 1947. Added ICM wing tips out of spares box,ex ICM HF. VII kit.

Love those two, if you look carefully at the photo of the real MJ627 you will see that the u/c doors are on the right way, the black of the invasion stripe confuses the profile also if they were wrong the u/c would not retract into the wheel wells !

Very true Troy, I once knew an ex bomber barron who had flown both, when he was shot down in August 1943 in his 405 sqn Halibag Mk.II srs2 he said if it had been a Lanc he would have died.

Very nice, I've got one in the stash, I want to back date mine to a Mark Ia of May/June 1940. They do look good kits and uild up wonderfully.

Right, Spit XIX's, I've built all 3 that are readily available in 1/72 scale, Airfix, Fujimi and MPM. The airfix kit is by far the easiest to build but as Miggers pointed out the prop, radiator tubs are way out, not to mention the panel lines. Fujimi, a good kit, no cockpit to speak of and the fuselage spine has to be added and requires fettling as it's easy to get a step with the lower fuselage, I had no trouble with the forward fuselage, good prop and fine recessed panel lines but no tail wheel doors!With care a good XIX can be had.MPM,I picked a couple of these up at Crewe militair show a couple of years ago, they were bagged and were from the BBMF release. The best by far, delicate panel lines, full cockpit with resin details such as control column and undercarriage torque links, 2 vac form canopies, accurate and a stonking kit. Not a difficult conversion to a high back XIV from any of these kits and indeed a low back is possible from the Fujimi as the parts are in the kit !!! Rich

Judging by photo's of Typhoons it looks like common practice to paint thr rad duct in the camouflage pattern.

I know the nose is to short but it looks a good IIb to me ! R

Does the Airfix Swordfish floatplane kit have the normal unndercarriage in it ? If it does its a bargain because it seems to retail for less

I don't know if this has been covered in other posts but are there any upgrade or correction parts eg oil cooler for the new 1/32 Spitfire IIa from Revell ? Rich.
