  1. Thank you very much for the information! I’ve had a look and ordered some generic stowage sets. Had tried to search for this sort of thing but without the correct term didn’t have much look! Cheers JJC
  2. Good morning gents I’m very new to AFV modelling, having recently plumped for the Airfix ‘mystery box’ set of 1:35 vehicles. My main aim with these kits is to depict them as war-weary and ‘well used’ as possible - much like the excellent box art of the recent kits. My question is, is there a source of ‘extras’ to add to these models to depict them as per the boxart - for example - on the Tiger I boxart, the tank has spare track attached to the front which does not appear to be included in the box. The same goes for tents / sandbags etc on some of the American kits. https://uk.airfix.com/products/tiger-1-late-version-a1364 Is there somewhere I can obtain extra track for jobs like these, or is it simply a case of accumulation spares? I’ve seen there are pricey replacement metal tracks etc available online. Apologies for the lengthy post / possibly silly question - this is all very new to me!! Cheers JJC
  3. Hi guys, many thanks for the kind comments! To answer your question, Logical, the spotting effect on the 109 was accomplished by mixing a shade approx. 50/50 of the colour mixed for RLM 65 with RLM 02. I then used a fine paint brush to paint on the areas randomly, until I liked the look of the effect created Cheers, JJC
  4. Hi guys, I'm a long-time lurker of this forum and have recently decided to show off a few of my builds (they've never been anywhere close to good enough before now!) Everything in this thread has been built since January this year (I've made a return to modelling as a stress-reliever between pieces of uni work!) So without further ado, here they are...not upto much compared to most on here, but I'm quite proud of them... All C&C welcome, let me know what you think! Italeri 1/48 P-40 Kittyhawk Pips Priller's FW-190 (Italeri 1/48) Adolf Galland's Bf-109 E-4 (Airfix 1/48) Arthur Clowes' Hurricane I (Airfix 1/48 - old tool) Airfix 1/48 Spitfire II (old-ish tool) Thanks for looking, JJC

    1/48 'Smokewinders'

Hi guys, I'm about to start a series of projects based around European demo F-16s. A staple of these display jets are the smokewinders seen fitted to wingtips - does anyone know where I can procure some, or if some can be easily fashioned in other ways? Cheers, JJC
