  1. That's a great piece of work. Like the others have said, the mud effects are very good. I like the mix of dried mud stains on uniform and the fresher wet mud on knees and boots from their climb out of the trench.
  2. This kit is a cracker. Excellent quality, almost builds itself. I opted for the vinyl tracks. The Caunter colours are mixed to Mike Starmer's specifications (Tamiya acrylics). Cheers for looking.
  3. That's an excellent result there. There's just something so primal about the 152. Superb paintwork.
  4. Tamiya's 1972 release, one from their Flintstones era. The bike and sidecar build up cleanly and hold up pretty well. Could do with brake levers and you could always add some cables. The figures? They're OK, but a product of their time, a bit stiff and toylike.
  5. Cheers folks (aye, it is a class 'Head track Abandoned Project). Unfortunately, not Vulcanicity, no Lemmy, Eddie or Philthy figures, but it would be possible I guess to convert them from a set of 1/72 Viking figures or such. Here's what I reckon you'd need to do to build the kit 'faithfully' to the album art. Add a nose 'bubble' gun turret for Philthy; Reverse the guns on the upper dorsal turret (adding a second gun) to have them fire forward through the plexiglass; Remove the ventral gondola, and fill the void to make a smooth belly... then add a basic ventral barbette; Mount the wings further up the fuselage (vertically) I reckon steps 1-3 would be easy enough, I may do it on a second model. Step 4 though, nah, a step too far. Paint btw is Revell 'Anthracite' (no. 9). I did darken a few random panels to try to break up the monotony of the surface, I could have weathered it a bit more, but decided to leave it fairly pristine. I should paint the exhausts a different tone though, on reflection.
  6. This is a pretty cool release. New tool, with link and length tracks to keep you busy. https://www.tamiya.com/english/products/35377/index.htm I like the fact that the set, with the trailer and two infantrymen, gives a nod to their earlier '70s release. Definitely be getting one of these.
  7. Fred's mentioned 'My Old Toy Box', so here's another NI shop... SK Mobiles in Newcastle is actually a models & rc shop (beyond the mobile phone supplies). Trades on Ebay as SK Models. 1/35 armour is a major line, so you get Tamiya, Italeri etc. They also do airbrush propellant cans etc, which is good as Royal Mail won't deliver it to NI from GB. SK Mobiles, 133 Main St, Newcastle, County Down, BT33 0AE (it's above Subway sandwich place).
  8. Spotted on Scalemates 'News' page, AFV Club to release a 1/35 Centurion Mk III Korean War. New parts added to their original 2006 Centurion release. No date set yet, sometime this year. And here's me about to start the 1/35 Tamiya Centurion!
  9. That's splendid. Could I ask which Tamiya colour you used?
