  1. Unfortunately, photos are all we have now...
  2. Same, you just don't put varnish over them, as it might melt the detail.
  3. Thanks, missed that one. IMO, how is this considered "an upgrade"? Most modellers could achieve a better look of instrument panel by just using the kit parts provided. I understand the hype over 3D printed details and all, but this is really sub-par to kits produced 20 years ago...
  4. I wonder what the "new parts" (stated at Scalemates) will be...
  5. Maybe these illustrations from Finemolds sets are of help? IJA IJN
  6. Very welcome news! I sold my HobbyBoss long time ago. While cheap and accurate, it still requires too much work to bring it to a high standard. So I decided to wait for the moment someone else issues a decent full kit. That moment is soon... 🤩 I am just sad by all the people whining (in FB comments below) what they should've issued instead... That tends to kill small kit maker enthusiasm fast. But didn't they issue a resin Yak-1 back in the day?
  7. "d" wing on Mk. IId was a modification of existing "B" wing to accept cannons. "Universal" wing on Mk.IV was designed from outset to accept multiple weapon combinations of previous wings. So it differed, both structurally, and in terms of panels.
  8. I am not mad that You killed 11 separate models to make this chunky boy (that is amazing, actually). But I am a little sad about that mini-sushi dish...
  9. Thank You very much for this info! IWM has many more machines from No. 225th with serials well visible, so (together with info provided by @RAF4EVER ) I can try to get my answer with a reduction method.
  10. LX-W, No.225 Sqn RAF, I just need a serial. More zoom-in-able pics available at IWM: CH 1174 CH 1180 CH 1185 CH 1186 CH 1191 CH 1193 CH 1198 CH 1201 Thanks!
  11. Interesting take. Massimo Tessitori interpreted the prevalence of lighter color as a late-war overpainting over a three-tone scheme.
  12. In short - no. Please see HERE.
  13. Italeri part is rather inaccurate in shape, previous post updated.
  14. This image suggests the slanted opening of intake should go towards rear. But judging from other images, the Italeri chin intake is inaccurate. It shouldn't be wedge-shaped (sides are parallel in plan). More pics HERE Regards, ALeksandar
  15. Care to share that photo so rest of us can weigh in?
  16. If you ever happen to visit Prague, be sure to check "The Bermuda triangle" for scale models (as they are literally 200m apart from one another): MPM model shop at Myslíkova 185 Bilek Hobby at Opatovická 1737/3 Model Bazar Praha at Pštrossova 199/25 - my personal favorite, as you can find many second-hand models at a discount! (just be sure to check inside box)
  17. If you can find it, Pavla also does a comprehensive 1/72 conversion set.
  18. Want to depict a by-the-photo interesting scene, but still be historically accurate? Just add the reporter with a camera to your diorama! 🤓
  19. Can You please be more specific? Outline (shape) or molding errors (parts don't align properly)?
  20. Tail shape and the wing strut arrangement leads me to IMAM Ro.63.
  21. Found this useful illustration over @ Large Scale Planes forum: Regards, Aleksandar
  22. Could this be a C model? Looks a tad... cute (read: shorter)
  23. Masterful upgrade of a veteran kit. 👌
  24. Only time we can call OD shade "standard" is in the very moment of application to the surface. 15 minutes after leaving the factory hall, paint on each separate aircraft/vehicle promptly develops it's own little, completely unique ecosystem. Nature is beautiful.
  25. It is indeed weird. But I bought from him same F2A canopy, (picked one of the adds in random) + some others, and got a good deal on combined postage. Only glitch was that some adds were in USD and some in EUR, so I had to make two payments. Got a refund for the difference, as agreed.
