  1. G’day Nick

Im currently building the kinetic FRS1, and have  seen on the site offers by you to other members offering assistance with what’s needed for this kit. I’m hoping you can help me out too!
my intention is to build ZA 192 from 800 SQN off Hermes during Op. Corporate,  as I like that this jet still retained the full colour roundels under the wings, even after the tone down repaint. No other reason, I know it didn’t have a particularly exciting combat life compared to some other jets, although a kill was scored in it .
I’m thinking I’d like to portray a load out  a little different to the usual CAP, did this jet participate in any raids on Port Stanley?
Any information you could share would be most appreciated. My email address is simmersauce@iinet.net.au

    regards

    Bruce

  2. Fantastic work. We need more photos. I’ve just finished the Dragon one, and posted it. SdKfz7/2 s are coming out of the woodwork lately here I couldn’t find many built when I was originally searching lovely work Bruce
  3. Thanks for the Thanks for the feedback Vytautas I think I’ll go in and add sone of those metallic colours as shown in your photo Regards Bruce
  4. G'day All Number two off the bench for the year. The dragon 1/35 Sd.Kfz7/2. For the most part the build was quite enjoyable, let down in parts by Dragon sloppy instructions I'm not quite where I want to be with the weathering yet, so welcome any critique. The model was painted with Tamiya German Grey and weathered with AK pigments and dusty oil washes. The folded blanket covering the windscreen is rolled out milliput The tracks and the gun were probably the fiddliest bit of the build for me. The trailer is Bronco Models Sd. Ah52 Thanks for looking Bruce
  5. Thanks people. So it hinges inwards that’s what I needed to know Cheers Bruce
  6. G’day all currently building the very enjoyable Airfix 48 scale Blenheim my 1F, which I’m completing as a bomber. The gunners entry hatch ahead of the turret is provided as a separate part so I would like to pose it open. Can anyone provide me guidance on which way it opened, outwards, or did it hinge downwards into the aeroplane? Many Thanks Bruce
  7. Lovely work Roger, on a kit we don’t often see built Bruce
  8. Right, Italeri, you can release yours now that is some top work there Alan. Amazing bit of modelling. Bruce
  9. Lovely job. I’m building one of these at the moment. I’m especially impressed with how you have faired the canopy in, do it doesn’t look like a separate piece which is something I’m aiming to get right with mine . Bravo Bruce
  10. Gday Sprue I have a mate building the 1F at the moment and he confirms it has the necessary bomber parts for bay and bombs in it Regards Bruce
  11. lovely work Russ. let me look around my stash and ask a few local friends to see if I get my hands on a set of those decals Regards Bruce
  12. Crikey Shaun, you were quick off the mark on this one. Lovely build , can you fix the gear, or is it too well glued? I have the FRS1 on my to do list this year. Might build it alongside the AV-8A. Bruce
  13. Thanks for your kind comments Phil. When reading up on the Thud in Vietnam, I was astounded to read the losses were 40%. You will find a few more pics up on my website which is listed in my signature, (when I get the article finished) @SAT69 Very kind of you, especially given you worked on the real jets. @CaracalModels Thanks for doing the decals, they performed flawlessly as they always do Thank you everyone else for the kind comments Bruce Thanks Harry
  14. The printing up close is a little grainy, but nothing you notice at normal viewing distance. The 3D look is very apparent. They certainly do not look flat like PE does. As for fit, I found this set excellent, with the set properly sized to fit the panels. Colour looks good, you just have to paint the white edges where visible. As they are on the expensive side, I would just use them in wide cockpits where they will be easily visible thanks for the kind comments Bruce
  15. Thanks DD . quite happy with it. Let’s see some of those T-Bolts of yours !
  16. This went together far quicker than the instructions would suggest. Even with the raft of AM fitted. The cockpit panels are Quinta, seats Legend, fuselage intakes and wingtips Quickboost. Ladders are by LF Models and decals from Caracal . Weapons cane from a Hasegawa weapons set the kit went together with little issue. That said HobbyBoss only allow you to fit the canopies closed. I had to scratchbuild actuators, out of the box, the cockpit side consoles don’t reach to the fuselage sides either, however the Quinta set fixes this thanks for looking Bruce
  17. Same here Colin. When HKM first announced the down sized kit, my tamiya kits went . I’ve pre ordered one from my LHS AUD 130 to my front door which I think is a great price. They are expected late March/ early April here in Australia I have it on good authority from a LHS owner here who regularly talks to Neil from HKM that a 48 Dambuster will also be released Bruce
  18. Oh. Thats lovely. I like the Airacobra in RAF colours Bruce
  19. great work Tony, and always interesting to read the history of the men and actual aircraft behind the model Bruce
  20. That's pretty much the strength of it, Texan Those expecting to find a veritable Aladdin's cave of long unavailable WNW kits at the airshow are going to be sadly disappointed. Ex employees have commented on FB this is most likely just a sell off of remaining NZ stock, As others have commented, the original WNW staff have all taken up other employment Bruce
