Excellent photos of interesting types in fantastic sunshine. Especially love the Canberra. Must be amazing to see one flying still.

And flares too!!! If only RIAT was able to have flares.

ace Paul Zorner referred to it as a 'monstrosity', a 'great big lump' ( the German word is 'Klotz') and a 'tired old cow' in his memoir. He relates how he told his Kommandeur he refused to fly it again in combat after nearly being shot down by a Wellington.. makes for an impressive looking model though!

Thankyou for the compliment and the interesting information Falke, most interesting

Great looking 217 nightfighter.  The finish is just so well done and I would imagine placing those aerials in place required the use of three hands and very tiny fingers.  Thanks for sharing.

Thanks George. Yeah,......the aerials!!  The hardest part was cutting them away from the supports.  Nerve wracking stuff!!

Even if her crews didn't, I always liked this nightfighter (don't know why). Your beautiful model may give me a reason!

I must admit, it has a certain allure about it.  Thank You for commenting

Great looking `217 there Bruce, really nice work

  6. Hot off the bench!!

I found the kit quite an enjoyable build with good fit.  The plastic is a little soft and has a bit of a texture, the panel lines are quite petite.

Extras added were Gaspatch FuG 202 radar antennae, AIMS flash hiders on the nose guns, Master Details cannon barrels and Aires wheels.

All markings, aside from the walkways were painted on using a Montex mask set.

She's not the prettiest aeroplane and was not much loved by her crews apparently, being quite slow.

Thats OK, with my slightly wonky radar array, she would have trouble finding them in the first place, anyway 😀

    All comments and critiques welcome.

    Thanks for looking
