How bout with a partial mirror base but with the a/c up on jacks (more scratch building I know, but hey, you are rather good at it. You could cast some white metal ones, I'd buy at least a dozen off you to help with the cost!). The undercarriage could be extended, including main gear partially rotated? To help give the model a little more hight off the base. Still loving the build Kirk

Jeez, shame I'm just about to convert the garage to a much needed larger kitchen, otherwise.............

Well, not over my house, but where I was working today, one VC10 taking off in the fog, lots parked up and one being towed back to the hanger with it's engine access doors open, looking very poorly!! Also parked up, two C-17s, two Tridents, an Apache and some Monarch Airlines twins.

OMG !! I pop off for a couple days with my boy and return to find I've only gone and won!!!! Well that's just amazin, I don't know quite what to say........cough..cough...ahem....unacustomed to public speaking as I am... First off, I guess, a big thank you to John and Paul (and Airfix!), for a brilliantly inspired idea for a group build. Of course a big pat on the back to everyone who entered, I am sure I'm not the only one who loved seeing all those great builds take shape. I hope you all had as much fun as I did and, for those of a certain age, like me, you enjoyed a warm and fuzzy nostalgia trip back to your mis-spent youth! Also many, many thanks to all that voted for me, I am dead chuffed to say the least. Oh, and a big well done to Sophie, fantastic effort I reckon. Hope I haven't left anyone out! Sorry if I have. Wow!! Cheers! Kirk

Hey, thanks for the kind words all. Hi Glen, well, I just added a touch of black, what came with the kit, to the two browns, thinned it down a bit with some water and used the small brush. Went back over any mistakes with some of the original colour. Hope that makes sense! Cheers Kirk

Good to see another finished F-5 Royster! You've done a cracking job there. Love pic no.2, looks like early morning on the ramp ready for the first sortie of the day! Cheers Kirk

Love that last photo of the two models together! You've done a great job on your F-5 by the way. Cheers Kirk -
Here's my F-5E Tiger II. Loved it, go out and build one yourself! Link - http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=46806 Thanks for looking Kirk

Yipee! It's done! My first complete build of the year and the fastest build for me since I was about 12! Loved every minute of this group build, quite inspiring to see how others have approached their subject and got over any difficulties. As I've said before, a great kit, spot on selection of paints ,with nice brushes and pretty good glue. More pics in the finished thread. Thanks for looking, your turn now! Kirk

Reckon you've done a brill job on the seahawk there, can't wait to see how the 'other' Airfix F-5 builds up. Cheers Kirk -
Hey Royster, that's looking great! Looks like some of us were lucky enough to choose a reasonable kit with a good selection of paints for this build! Hats off to Airfix for this one I think. Cheers Kirk

Thanks for the positive comments all. Couple more pics now able to crack on a bit at last! Now how do I fix my missing exhaust part problem? Well, used some unused bits from the kit and the centres of two sprue gates!! Here is the first coat of the lighter camo. More to come soon. Cheers Kirk

That's looking good Glen. Mine is on hold for a few days, but does have first coat of paint on. Cheers Kirk -
Hey Royster, snap! Hope you are enjoying this kit as much as I am! Cheers Kirk

Must say what a great little kit this is. The fit is excellent and could only find two small sink marks so far (not filled of course!). The leading and trailing edges of the tail and wings look scale thickness as they are paper thin, as are the fronts of the engine intakes. The only negative so far is an engine exhuast part missing, but that could be my fault ripping open the bag of sprues in my rush to start! Here it is with the cockpit glued up. Cockpit and pilot painted, glued into fuselage with wings and tail. Thanks for looking! Cheers Kirk
