Thank you Matthew, They were lacquers with the orange tops, thinned with about 70% Mr hobby self levelling thinners... very impressed with them. Cheers, Gary -
Hi everyone, I've never made an F-16 in my 40 plus years of making models so I thought it was high time I addressed this. I chose the new Kinetic kit which went together generally quite well, although it had nasty joint running across the top of the fuselage just forward of the fin. This made blending difficult and resulted in loosing some of the nice panel lines. The instructions were unclear at the best of times especially the stencil data placement, I had to refer to reference photos. My usual preferred MRP paints were out of stock (again!) so I tried Hataka lacquers, USAF set, which were brilliant and I think I will use again in the future. I added a pair of Eduard seats and a Master pitot probe. Thanks for looking, Gary

Hi Everyone. My latest model off the bench, Roden's 1/48th Grumman Mohawk. A rather nice kit with fine panel lines and nicely fitting parts, unfortunately the decals were a let down, very fragile and most of them split, so I ended up spraying the walkways on. I added a couple of Quickboost resin seats and an Eduard cockpit photo etch set, which I feel is a must with all that glass to look through. Painted with Mr Color, weathered with oils and pastel chalks. Thanks for looking. Gary

Many thanks Rich, I never realised there would be so much love for the Nimrod. Don't be put of by other peoples opinions the kit is not too bad, just a few silly mistakes by Airfix which can be easily rectified. One part that I feel does need changing is the canopy but I'm not sure if the Alley Cat replacement is still available. Thanks everyone for your kind comments, much appreciated. Gary
