  1. Nicely done and photographed, very realistic. If there's one aircraft that needs rivets, it's the Dakota. gazza l
  2. Great work Roy, it's really coming together now. gazza l
  3. Hi Roy, Stunning casting work, I wouldn't no where to start! Just one thing though, the upper wishbones are slightly different, they haven't got the three lightening/stiffening holes or a cross brace, they have one large hole for the shock absorber to pass through and also a bracket for the anti-roll bar attachment... apart from this the overall dimensions I gave you are identical. Sorry, gazza l
  4. Very nice Iain, your windows look a lot better than my VC-10, with their misalignment problems. gazza l
  5. Very impressive building Roy, it's just like being back at work! gazza l
  6. Very nicely done... I must do a Jaguar myself one day. gazza l
  7. Stunning Harrier, the pilot figure finishes it off a treat. gazza l
  8. Looking good Mark, those intakes are a devil to blend... I can remember struggling them!
  9. Thanks everyone, still a long way to go. I wouldn't like to meet her on a dark night if she resembles a Victor tanker! Cheers, gazza l
  10. This evenings work: After many hours fettling the resin intakes, they finally fitted the aperture. I've added a brass tube spar to add a little more strength. Dry fitting with the original kit wing parts... not a bad fit. I've also tried to correct the wing angle which is too low at the trailing edge, causing the carrot fairings and the wing tips to angle down ((I believe they should be parallel to the ground). To do this I dipped them in very hot water and tweaked and flexed them until they looked right. Finally a dry fitting of all the wing parts. Looking much better but I might give them wings another tweak, also, I can appreciate the size of the model now! Thanks for looking, gazza l
  11. We all have to have a tidy up occasionally! Nice work on the undercarriage. Thanks for the info... I've ordered a couple of packs (X 4 clamps). gazza l
  12. Great work... this is very interesting to watch. gazza l
  13. Hi everyone, More work on the wings, I decided to make some replacement jet pipes so the kit moulding had to be fettled back. More fettling with my trusty Dremel, to enlarge the aperture. Followed by taping the two halves together and reaming out the jet pipes with a 10.4mm reamer in a battery drill. This is what I ended up with... most of the plastic removed, ready for the new jet pipes to be inserted once the wings are together. Just need to turn up a set of jet pipes now. Wings going together. Meanwhile the intakes have been primed and painted glossy white using some Akan paint left over from my Mig 31 Build.
  14. Hi Roy, Great start and I'm looking forward to more progress. I hope you don't mind me mentioning it but if your're modelling the car pictured it has the long sweep front wheel arches, which I believe were only used on some of the Lister works cars. Probably not to much of a problem to extend them further back using a bit of filler. Sorry to bring it up, gazza l
  15. Nice Lightning, looks great in that 92 Squadron scheme. I remember my teacher reading 'Thunder and Lightnings' to the class way back in the late 70's... the boys thought it was great, the girls less so! gazza l
  16. Thanks for the link Mark, I might go for a couple of pairs, they are in stock at £10.49 for a pair... now, is a pair two of them or like a pair of scissors, one? gazza l
  17. Followed by a change of underwear!!!
  18. Coming together Mark. I've been admiring your tools again, where did you get those clamps, they look rather useful. I stupidly used a metal G-clamp when I made my Vulcan and managed to punch a hole through the wing... won't be doing that again! gazza l
  19. What a beauty. Great weathering, looks just right. gazza l
  20. Hi chaps, I haven't progressed very much this week, too much other stuff going on at the moment but I have started the scary bit... cutting the wings up to accept the resin replacements. Here goes, let the cutting commence! Too late now, no going back. Finally a dry run and I'm pleasantly surprised, quite a good fit. Tomorrow evening same again with the port wing.
  21. The seats look amazing just need some arm rests I believe. Looking forward to more progress, gazza l
  22. Sorry, can't help you with the planking technique but the window framing looks very impressive... keep going. gazza l
  23. Great looking VC-10, in the best looking scheme. gazza l
