  1. This is an excellent build. I just received mine and when I start it I will come here for inspiration.
  2. What a wonderful build. There is an Airfix PRU bird in my near future and your build log is a sweet reference.
  3. Mine is still on pre-order so I'm following with great interest! Excellent work so far
  4. Fabulous build! Needs a windshield wiper though.
  5. Love that fuel pump assy! The firewall behind the seats was covered with insulation blankets, l
  6. I was there. I looked at the pic to see if I was in it, but nope. It was a geat time.
  7. I'm really liking this build. I suspect it will be spectacular when all these sub-assemblies come together
  8. I've been following your amazing build for quite some time now and you are an artist that is really dedicated to your project. I just thought I would let you know that your top up opening knob is actually the high beam/low beam switch which was foot operated on US cars of that era.
  9. Well done! I just came back for another look before I start mine.
  10. What an excellent thread! Very informative about your techniques and the problems you faced. Loved the pic of the Stirling and Halifax together.
  11. So glad to see you're back on this. It's a great subject and you're doing it justice.
  12. The key to a good white paint job is to use white primer first. I use Tamiya's white primer and it's excellent. You can top coat it with any kind of white or clear coat. That being said, I think your hull looks pretty good as a worn white finish.
  13. Your drybrush and wash treatment on the cannon looks excellent. Now there are a couple more items on my shopping list.
  14. Well you've managed to point me towards a project that I wouldn't normally consider. That kit looks very interesting and your progress looks excellent. I'll follow along to see where this will go.
  15. You have set the benchmark for PTs John. Excellent from any angle.
  16. I'm loving this build. From a time when these big dinosaurs ruled the American road. These big de-tuned engines with their smog pumps struggled to make the power that the old straight sixes used to make. Mine was a big Dodge Charger. It was an "interesting" time. And amongst my social group it was "Husky and Starch"
  17. I love your work so far. The visible seam line is only at the outside of the radiator pods so you should be able to fill and sand it without damage to your lower tub paint. I agree with Flemming about the weathering but it's your project so keep on with what you're doing.
  18. Da Nang F-4s are a favorite subject of mine. I'm glad to have found this thread.
  19. I've been hoping to see someone use that Flightline set so I'll just pull up a chair and peek over your shoulder
  20. DING DING DING! I think we have a winner 😁
  21. Nailed it! Superb paintwork. Your photo skills are also excellent.
  22. I use a tidy bench as a motivation tool. When the bench is clean I am psychologically driven to fill it up with a new project. Sort of a mojo jump start. ☺️
  23. Great additions. I've wondered about that antenna. I've seen it on the chart house roof or added to the radar mast, and in one pic on both locations. http://www.navsource.org/archives/12/120553301.jpg
