  1. Yes, I was hoping for an NF.30 or similar but it's been so long I can't remember whatever happened to that. The NF appeals more than a bomber variant, but the blue PR variants are engaging. If SH do get their Mosquito out I will likely gladly buy it, but have not put other items on hold because of this. That's unhealthy. I haven't bought the Airfix as I'm not keen on the habitually exaggerated canopy framing on their kits. Tony .
  2. If only. A Hurricane is more sensible, but am still quietly hoping for a Supermarine Schneider Trophy contender which is a realistic alternative. Anything much bigger than a Spitfire seems very unlikely, so maybe a Seafire. Tony
  3. Doesn't matter too much. Revell should be releasing a Sea Hurricane before long and I've yet to catch up with the ICM Sea Gladiator once I build up the courage to do Rigging. But a Swordfish would be super, and I would give the dreaded R word a go. Tony
  4. I hope they don't lose interest in the Scimitar because of production issues. Tiger as in Grumman F11F? Wouldn't mind doing a Blue Angel — just about any post-War jet in 1/32 is welcome. Tony
  5. I remember glueing and painting this kit wheels-up more than fifty years ago. Nice to see it done properly! Tony
  6. Is that a Buccaneer S.1 lurking behind ? Tony
  7. Not my brand of scotch but I'm massively happy for others revelling (Airfixated?) with this release. Well done Airfix! Nice to see these curve balls in play. Tony
  8. Now all shiny and hanging from the ceiling like an Airfix kit from my youth... https://www.airhistory.net/photo/91442/51-1714/11714 Tony
  9. I think we need evidence of the fictional Dennis-the-menace-coloured hook. The photo link I posted is apparently dated 4 Nov 1968 and the H on the tail signified Hermes. Tony
  10. The Walrus was built by Supermarine and also designed by Reginald Mitchell, though so were the Supermarine S.5/S.6 Schneider trophy winners. Is there going to be any kind of announcement at Telford next weekend? Guessing games only hold interest for a short while, Tony
  11. There's a photo here... https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/291959988342453675/ ...where it appears overall very grubby sky to me Tony
  12. If it's a 1/32 MiG-21 I'll be over the moon! That would be the best news in years! If it turns out to be a 1/48 or 1/35 Chinese J-7 or MiG-21 Fishbed series I'm still tempted, but not quite so much. Tony
  13. One to avoid then. I was thinking of getting one of the repopped ex Kittyhawk Zimi Models offerings when these become available: https://www.zimimodel.com/product/zm80105r-jaguar-t2-t4/ However, after reading the above comments I'll wait for a new tool Airfix, whenever that happens. (Hopefully after a new tool Spey Toom.) Tony
  14. Does the Premium edition come with wings, tail booms etc? Kidding aside, does it include these extras as a Premium pick 'n' mix option? I'm happy with just a vanilla kit Wanting a quality 1/48 Vampire T.11 very, very much, so thankyou Pilot Replicas Tony
  15. Yes, thanks, that is both encouraging and informative. If Airfix did follow this path, the possibility of a number of successful boxings in 1/48 would be exciting. FAA F-4K/FG.1 edition covering all sins 1968-1978 with optional ARI 18228 RWR fin top, AIM-9G Winders and a big decal sheet offering half a dozen options would be a real treat. Someone, somewhere, at one time or another (Model Alliance?) did just such an aftermarket sheet and it's sorely missed! The RAF FGR.2 boxing with EMI recce pod, recce strobe tanks, recce rear IP, SUU-23/A Vulcan pod, twin-stick option, ILS antennae and periscope etc would also be fun, as I've long wanted to make a №41 Sqn recce Toom with the wing strobes. It happens to be one of the Revellogawa FGR.2 options but the kit is really showing its age. Tony .
  16. I have the Buccaneer and am very impressed. There is no fabric nor round head rivets on the exterior skin of the F-4, discounting the bolts of the later belly strap, so there's nothing to misinterpret, save for Airfix's penchant for raised canopy framing on fast jets — a habit they should change. Tony
  17. As long as it isn't up-scaled from the 1/72 kit, as the panel lines need to be much more subtle, and the canopy frames (ideally) engraved on a flush surface, definitely not prominent as if on a WW2 era bomber. With that kind of more gentle treatment I'd definitely buy a pair on release. We can indeed but hope. Tony
  18. At £275 or so a copy I'm out too. It's just a tad too much to ask in exchange for glueing wafers together with sticky superglue. One of my favourite subjects so I'll just have to keep hoping Revell eventually do it in 1/32nd scale for £50 a pop in a lovely blue side-opening box. I do look forward to seeing the Jetmads Drakens built. Tony
  19. Is there hope of a Gulf War whisky maiden from Muharraq or might that be intended for a third boxing? Don't normally do warbirds, just jets in peacetime, but those desert pink jets are the exception. Tony
  20. That's what worries me, as I doubt ZM will fix the poorly done canopy shape on its F-4 series. Airfix would get that right, even if the framing is slightly exaggerated. As Tamiya has gone bonkers over Lightning 2s, its delightful F-4B hasn't yet been further developed — though I still hope for a new F-4J in a Japanese carton with two stars in the corner. Tony
  21. I'd still finish my Revellogawa with extras so as to make a folded-up Airfix en suite. Pessimistic about the liklihood of a big Airfix AEW Gannet. Did the Classic Airframes development fade away completely, or does some incomplete tooling survive, somewhere out there, giving us some hope? I am still hoping Airfix will do a third Buccaneer boxing with a recce tray, and possibly a nuke, on a new teeny sprue. Tony
  22. I'd be absolutely delighted to see an Airfix 1/48 F-4K/FG.1 — with the proviso it's as good as the Buccaneer S.2 kits, and most definitely not a scaled-up version of the 1/72 Spey Toom with its drainage ditch panel lines and missing inlet bypass vents. However, the Airfix tiddler, despite its shortcomings, does offer some nice options which would be great in a bigger version: separate or one-piece canopy parts, folded wings or deployed ones with dropped BLC leading and trailing edge flaps. And a proper chunkier FG.1 NLG leg with the aft rake. Other subjects might please but a Royal Navy / RAF FG.1 Phantom II would certainly win my heart and money. Tony
